It's good to know y'all really be out there enjoying my book ahhh!!! everytime I read all your comments and reading list names my heart goes like💓💗💗💓💞
....

"Working with you was a pleasure, Kamihara," You bowed graciously before your second mentor, your hands clasped together and your suitcase laying idly by. "Thank you for taking care of me."

It was the final day of the Internships and you were slightly disheartened you had to leave. Spending time with the pro hero for a couple more days was a blast and you clearly had the time of your life, especially the time when you persuaded the man to ride a roller coaster with you, only to end up throwin up into a trash can right after with tears pooling onto the edge of his eyes.

Edgeshot gave you a sweet, closed smile, "It was my pleasure. I have something to give to you by the way before you leave."

You were surprised when one of Edgeshot's men came over in his call and handed the hero a wide, rectangular-shaped box along with a lenghty paper bag, giving you a polite, acknowledging smile.

"What's that?" You asked, giving it a curious look in which Edgeshot chuckled slightly, passing the two items into your awaiting hands.

"Here. I suggest you open the box first..."

Taking his word of advice, you set the paper bag down gently onto the floor and untied the ribbon at the top of the box with the utmost care. You lifted the lid and gasped softly, seeing a nicely made scrapbook.

Edgeshot watched infront of you in silence, a small smile present on his face. He helped in holding the box that contained the scrapbook, offering to hold it when you pulled the book out.

You flipped open the cover, your eyes widening when you saw the figure of your mother beside a young, teenage looking male, looking at the camera with big smiles plastered onto their faces.
"This is..my mom.." You said, remembering the same soft (H/C) hair and the beautiful (E/C) eyes. "And beside her..I'm not so sure."

"That man beside her was me.."

You looked up at Edgeshot with wide eyes, comparing the past with the present version who stood right before you and seeing the tremendous difference.

"Why're you with her?" You questioned once again, flipping through the pages and seeing all kinds of photos, from the two of them in their hero costumes to the two of them training together. There was even one where young Edgeshot was clearly forced to dress in a Superman costume and your mother was simply laughing in the background, clutching her stomach probably from the pain of laughing too much.

You continued to scan the contents of the book, while at the same time listening to what Edgeshot was saying.
"I was actually her student when I was younger, she took me under her wing and for a while, acted like a mother to me. She was one of the people I idolized greatly and practically taught me everything I know today. We worked together a lot and when she was pregnant with you, she offered for me to be your godfather."

"Did you.." You shyly looked at Edgeshot. "Did you accept?"
"Did I accept?" He let out a chortle. "Of course I did! I'm your godfather, Y/N. I just didn't know how to tell you and I wasn't sure when. When I told you that you were just like her the day you went in, I felt like tearing up. I really and truly meant it, she was one of the kindest people in this world and I'm so glad you're following right at her footsteps. You're gonna do great in the future, Y/N!"

Emotions stirred inside you as you tried to process the newfound information in your head. You couldn't believe it, Edgeshot was your godfather! The two of you are like family now!

"The room you stayed in this whole time was actually her room," Edgeshot continued. "I never destroyed or moved anything inside because I always planned on saving that room for you when you grew up."
You continued to gape at the pro hero with the widest of eyes, you still couldn't process the words he was saying, it felt so..so unreal.

"You're always welcome to comeby anytime you like," The hero offered. "I'm always happy to take you back under my wing once in a while. It'll be a nice change to my normal routine, actually. You should stop gaping, firefly and try opening the other present I have for you."
You slowly nodded your head and reached down to pull out whatever was in the paper bag  you had set down. Pulling out a short, black case, you gently tucked the book under your arm with care and lifted the magnetic lid up.

More surprise made its way to your face when you found a simple necklace inside the box. The necklace had a gold chain and a ruby red gemstone shaped like a teardrop dangling from the center. The gem itself was fairly small in size, roughly as wide as a centavo and a golden moon-shape curve curved around its side perfectly. It glimmered softly under the bright yellow lights of the room you were currently standing in, giving it the prettiest glow you've ever seen.

"That necklace was worn by your mother everywhere she would go. There wouldn't be a day where you wouldn't see it hanging around her neck," Edgeshot started, watching you take the necklace away from its casing. "She told me that it gave her more power, more strength during her battles and I'm just not sure what she actually meant. Apprently, it is a special family heirloom and only the heir of the old user could wear it. The red of the gemstone was once the blood of your ancestors, Y/N so take care of the necklace. Don't lose it."

"I won't," You promised, easily placing the necklace around your neck. "Thank you so much Kamihara. I-I..this..this is a lot to take in honestly..with you being my godfather and all."
"I know and I understand," The male said, opening his arms wide. "Now come here and give me a hug, little one!"

A smile erupted itself onto your face and you immediately tackled the pro hero into a big bear hug, wrapping your arms around his taller frame while also making sure you didn't drop the scrapbook you held in your hand. You pulled away from him seconds later, wiping a small tear that started to form on the corner of your right eye.

"Thank you again so much!"
Bowing, you packed up your stuff and lifted the suitcase that stood on the ground with ease, giving Edgeshot one last smile. He playfully ruffled your hair with the corners of his eyes crinkling in delight.
"Not a problem. I hope to see you soon," He said and you nodded your head.
"Me too..."

You waved him a goodbye and turned on your heels, walking out the door with an aura of happiness and confidence. Today, you just unlocked a couple of secrets from your past and you were practically sure that there was more to come. From the Stain incident to the present ones that you had just recently learned, you were already craving for more.

However right now, your main priority was to figure out the short necklace that hanged around neck and the power it held inside. What newfound strength could the jewelry possible offer you? Was it good? Would it help you in battles and whatnot? or was it just a regular old necklace?
