"Now class, as most of you are turning 18 this year, you'll be sending off your letters, some already have. So we will discussing how they work to clear up any confusion." The teacher began, the first class of the agonisingly long school day.

Chin resting on her hand as she listened to the lecture.

"Let's begin with the basics. So we all know that you can send a letter to the moon upon your 18th birthday, and we all know that if your letter doesn't send then your soulmate is on earth.

So raise your hands if your parents are both humans." Everyone in the class raised their hands, leaving Jihyun with her hand down.

One kid smirking at the remark he was about to say.
"I'd hate it if I had a parent from the moon. Imagine giving birth to a half, freak." The class erupting in laughter making Jihyun bury her head in her arms.

"Okay class calm down. In the rare occasion that your soulmate is on the moon, how do they contact each other?"

He was correct, it has become more and more rare that your soulmate would be on the moon.

More and more people finding their loved ones on their own planet, the two worlds distancing themselves from the other.

When no one raised their hand, the teacher rubbed the bridge of his nose, glasses being pushed up as he sighed.

"The letters are one way to communicate, but recently there has been someone stealing them. Which is fine for soulmates that already know about each other. But for someone who hasn't made that first connection, they become oblivious to the other."

"What happens if your soulmate doesn't get it?" Jihyun finally raised her hand, concerned her soulmate wouldn't get her letter.

"That is an excellent question Jihyun. Soulmates complete us, make us our better selves and help broaden our perspective on the worlds.

But without that first connection, you start to loose control of yourself. Most of the time you loose the ability to feel emotion." The teacher said making Jihyuns palms become sweaty. She didn't want to loose her emotions.

"Soulmates can communicate through mind as well, but once again, that first connection is needed to be made. Both on earth or not."

The class nodded along with what he was saying, making mental notes.

"We are all aware that the people on the moon have... powers. Sometimes they get passed down to their children if they are a half. Jihyun, do you have any powers?" Everyone's eyes now on the girl as she gulped at the sudden question.

Only shaking her head and looking down, embarrassed, but she was lying.

She had started getting them, too scared that if anyone knew she'd get bullied more than she already was.

"Its okay Jihyun, if you haven't gotten anything by now then you won't have them."

"Congrats freak." The same boy quipped making Jihyun prick at her nails habitually.

The sound of the bell ringing made her let out a breath she didn't know she was holding- watching as everyone began packing up and leaving the class room.

"Don't forget you have a test next Monday." The teacher yelled out to his fleeing students and not noticing the girl who stood in front of her.

Jumping slightly as he finally realised she was there.
"Oh it's only you Jihyun."

"Teacher. I sent my letter- It went to the moon." She said shyly.

"That's great news Jihyun, congratulations." He placed a hand on her shoulder making her look up at him with a scared expression in her eyes.

"W-what if he doesn't get it."

"There is nothing to be afraid of. I'm sure he has it now."

"But if he does, what if he doesn't like me?" She stated concerned, going over the endless possibilities that could happen.

"Impossible. Listen Jihyun, he's your soulmate, he'll love you no matter what."

"B-but-"

"I will be talking about this again tomorrow, so don't stress to much. Is there something you want me to talk about?"

She bit her lip in thought, thinking about all the questions she had. "How do we meet, like face to face. What's the process of that."

The teacher nodded his head, picking up his books as the two began walking out of the classroom.
"If that's what you want me to talk about, I will."

"Can you also keep it anonymous. I don't want the others to know that my soulmate is from the moon and that I have powers." She said in a rush, really hoping no one heard her, but luckily the halls were empty.

"I thought you said you didn't have them." He said confused, but when the girl looked up at him with pleading eyes, he understood her intentions.

"You shouldn't be ashamed Jihyun. I always wanted them when I was young." He tried to cheer her up, "think about it, you're like the human version of the avengers!"

His attempt working when she smiled at his joke.
"Thank you for your help. I got to go." She bowed before walking off down the hall way.
