(If you don't like needles... read with caution)

It was cold- Renjun was sitting on a chair in the middle of a white room.

The smell of disinfectant stung his senses as the light above him made the white walls blinding to look at.

Renjuns mother was not allowed in the room with him so she had to say goodbye and leave.

It was sentimental but they both knew it was only for 24 hours and his mother was finally happy her son was able to meet his soulmate.

There was a timid knock on the door and Renjun looked towards it-watching as the doctor walked in with a clip board in hand.

A few steps after him two nurses came in pulling a dressing trolley along with them.

"Good Morning Renjun I'm Doctor Choi, how are we feeling today?" He asked sophisticated and professional and looking up from his clipboard.

"I'm feeling good thank you," he responded with a small smile.

"That's good. So today's the day, meeting your soulmate is quite exciting," he began as the nurses began to set up for the needle and Renjun nodded, his stomach started to churn as he glanced at the needle next to him.

"You will be receiving a vaccine today to prevent you from obtaining any foreign diseases and to prevent the worse from happening as you spend the next 24 hours on Planet Earth," he explain and Renjun nodded once more.

The nurse whispered something to the boy and he rolled up his sleeve, allowing a clear view for the nurse.

"Before we start, do you have any questions?" Doctor Choi asked.

"No Sir," Renjun responded politely and the doctor smiled in return.

"Well then, I will let the nurse explain and take care of you, I will just be outside when you're ready," he explained and Renjun thanked him as he left with one of the other nurses.

"So Renjun, this won't take long. You will feel a little pinch when the needle goes in and I've had some people tell me it hurts and others not, it just depends on the person," the nurse said which made Renjun tense up a little.

"Don't worry, it will only be a second of pain," she said sweetly with a small laugh and he could only respond with a slight chuckle.

"I'm just going to get you to hold onto this," she handed him a stress ball and he started to play with it in his opposite hand.

"Try to relax, okay?" Renjun took a deep breath in as she pushed the needle into his arm- vein prominent from the strap she tightened around his arm.

His exhale became staggered as he squinted his eyes shut, the overwhelming feeling of the liquid flowing through his bloodstream stung, but before he knew it she removed the needle- placing a cotton ball onto the area and taping it down to stop the bleeding.

"There you go, all done," she said with a smile as she removed her gloves and disposed of the needle.

"You did very well," she smiled and Renjun gave her a weak one back.
"Not long now and you will be able to see your soulmate."

"Yeah," he said with a chuckle, "I've waited a long time for this."

"Well then, Doctor Choi is just waiting outside and he will acquaintance you to the next stage."
