"Hey noona," Jisung called out shyly, watching as the girl stoped in her tracks and turn around.
"Jisungie, what's up?" She cooed out, scrunching her nose at the younger boys everlasting cuteness.
"I need to talk to you about something?" He seemed frantic, fingers pushing down his side burns and then proceeding to make weird gestures- a common occurrence for when he was nervous.
"Hey, are you okay? You seemed troubled," The girl asked worried, placing a hand on the much taller boys back and leading him towards a lone bench on the opposite side of the schools courtyard.
They sat down, a silence lingering in the air as she waited patiently for the boy to speak his mind. But she could tell he was struggling.
"Whatever it is Jisung, know that I'm here for you-"
"I think I remember Renjun!" He blurted out, catching the girl off guard and making her lean back slightly in shock.
"Y-you, what?" She asked, eye brows furrowing as she shook her head, trying to let her mind register what he had just told her.
"Well... I don't know exactly. But I know that whoever this Renjun person that everyone keeps mentioning, is real- and for some reason, you're the only person who can remember who it is."
His eyes flicked between the girls before looking down at his own balled up fists.
"The others recall of situations that I remember so clearly, but then they say that I do something that I definitely did not do- and then you go on and talk about this Renjun. But that's not even the weirdest thing, I can recall memories of me and someone, I remember all our conversations and what we have done, I just can not pin point who it is. I can't remember what they looked like or what they sound like, I just know that they are there, and I think it might be Renjun," Jisung looked back up to Jihyun and she watched as a tear fell down his eye.
He was frustrated, frustrated that he could not remember someone who he knew was so important to him, frustrated in himself that he had let himself forget someone so valuable to him.
"W-who is he?" He looked at her with desperation, with need and want and longing to remember.
She sighed, looking down at the ground as she tries to think about what he had just said, trying to come to register every little thing he had said.
Her mind went over every approach she could take to explain that he was just a figment of his imagination, but she couldn't do that to him.
She couldn't lie- and technically Kun never said she couldn't tell anyone else, he just assumed no one else remembered.
"This boy you can't remember, that is Renjun, he is real," she began, looking up to the boy whose brain was running a thousand miles per hour.
"T-Then why c-cant I remember him?" He stammered out and Jihyun reached out for his hand.
"Because the moon guardians wiped everyone's memories."
                              "Moon guardians?"
"Yes. There used to be a whole civilisation that lived on the moon, we called them moon people- and they had powers. Now there are special moon people that can be chosen to become moon guardians and they are there to protect the two worlds and the galaxy-"
Jihyun explained everything to the boy, about how soulmates were a thing, how Renjun was hers and that the institute of galactic affairs never actually exploded almost 100 years ago and that realistically it only happened a few months ago.
She explained every little detail, and Jisung listened to every word.
His mind ticking and inhaling every little piece of information she shared with him, and like a puzzle game, the cogs in his mind were twisting and turning and opening up memories he had forgotten.
"I remember," he spoke out lowly, and Jihyun felt shocked that he actually remembered.
                              "Wait... you actually remember?"
"Yes! I remember everything!" He exclaimed, grabbing hold of the girls shoulders and bringing her into a hug.
"I am so sorry you had to go through this alone noona," he whispered out into her hair.
The girl screwed up her face, forcing herself not to get emotional as she finally had someone to talk to this about.
"Wait, you said Renjuns dad is a moon guardian, can't he just send you back?"
Jihyun pulled away from the boy, a saddened look resting on her face.
"No."
Jisung let out a small oh, looking down to the ground briefly before sitting up right once more.
"What about the needle? You said Renjun had to get one to come to earth, why don't you get one from his dad and then go back through the portal at the museum," Jisung exclaimed, proud of his idea.
"He wouldn't let me, it's against their laws."
                              "But it's worth a try."
