(This is the literally cutest 🥺)
                              "Hey mum."
Renjun had made his way down the hill and back to his house in the suburbs of the dark side.
His house had a white picket fence surrounding his front yard- identically houses lining the streets as bright streetlights illuminated as much as they could.
His house was dainty, homely, something you'd compare to a 1970's Earth type house with technological advancements. The perfect balance between the past and the future, and the moon was a sucker for old and new.
Renjun places his drawing book on one of the benches as he walked into the kitchen, the smell of fresh apple pie floating through the air as he looked around.
The faint sound of jazz played in the background as he walked up to the apple pie, the pastry folded perfectly on top making a pattern of sorts. Renjuns mother had always been good at baking, a variety of treats were always available to eat.
"Renjun?" His mother spoke in disbelief making Renjun turn around. His mother stood there in the door way, eyes wide and holding onto the TV remote.
"I- is it really you?" She was in shock, not believing that her son was in front of her, time feeling as if it had stopped.
"Hi mum." He said sheepishly, a small smile tugged at his lips as he watched his mum.
A loud gasp left her lips, the thud of the remote landing on the floor filled the room as her hands cane up to her mouth.
She stood there frozen, not knowing how to react. "Hey, it's okay. I'm right here." He said sincerely, walking up to his shocked mother and wrapping his arms around her in an embrace.
Her hands were pressed against his chest as she didn't move from her position.
"Hey common, hug me back." Renjun said with a laugh, grabbing her hands and wrapping them around his waist.
"Y-you're back." She said in just above a whisper, still in disbelief that the person he loves most was standing there, hugging him, with his emotions back.
His mother suddenly pushed him back at arms length, hands gripping onto his arms as she looked at him. Eyes flickering over every feature he had, double, triple checking that her son was actually back.
Her hands made there way to his cheeks, holding her pride possession in her hands for the first time in a month. Tears filled her eyes as she tilted his head every which way, taking in every feature of love and life he held.
"Mum, Stop it." Renjun whined, grabbing hold of her hands lightly to stop her from moving his head too much.
"I'm just- happy, I'm so happy." She said breaking a smile, looking lovingly up into his eyes, kissing both his cheeks before wrapping him once again in an embrace.
Tears had now started to prick at his eyes, the heaviness of all the emotions he hadn't felt over the last month pushing down on him.
A month had been where he hadn't talked or seen his mother through the eyes of his own- and not the nobody that was consuming him.
"I'm so happy you're back my little bear, I thought I lost you." She said into his chest. "I love you so much, bear."
Renjun placed a gentle kiss to the top of her head, tear falling from his eye and landing on her soft hair.
He proceeded to lean his cheek on the spot he had just kissed.
                              "I love you too, mum."
