As the night faded away, countless movies had been watched and empty pizza boxes had been scattered on the floor.
The four bodies laid still in a trance of sleep in the lounge room, well at least two were asleep.
"You awake?" Jihyun asked Renjun, not wanting to wake the other two up.
He let out a hum, "yeah. What's up?"
"I can't sleep," she said, turning to face the boy as they laid next to each other.
"Can I show you something?"
Renjun looked towards the girl, eye brows furrowed at her odd exclamation.
"Uhh, sure?"
Jihyun gave him a small smile before gently removing herself from the fort they had been sleeping in- carefully trying not to wake the others up.
Renjun followed suit after Jihyun as she lead him outside. The cold crisp air encasing the two almost immediately, goosebumps pricking at their skin under the dark night.
Renjun wraps his arms around his body, trying to preserve some of the warmth his hoodie gave him.
"So why are we out here?" He asked, jaw jittering a little at the coldness.
"Here, come sit," she said leading him to a bench.
Knees touching knees as she quickly grabbed hold of his hands.
"You have always told me what the sky looks like from the moon, well, I wanted to show you the stars from earth," she began, a cloud of steam coming from her mouth as she looked up to the sky.
"I want you to experience what it's like from Earth, I want you to experience every beauty Earth has to offer. I'm just sorry we weren't in a better position to see the sunset, the car wasn't exactly the best place to see it."
"Are you kidding, it was breathtaking," Renjun said, reminiscing on just a couple of hours ago when the two were on their way home from the park and the sun began to set.
His window down as his hands clutched onto the door, being as close to the widow as he could. The inexplicable beauty of the reds, oranges, pinks and purples filled his mind.
The breathtaking view of the golden clouds that hung in the sky and the sun began to set beyond the horizon.
The silver slither of the moon that laid upon the multicoloured sky. His whole life that laid upon the multicoloured sky.
He was speechless. He wanted to show everyone on the moon what he was experiencing, something beyond his world, something he could never have experience before and he was in awe.
"It's the second most beautiful thing I have ever seen," he said and Jihyun tilted her head at him.
"What's the first?" She asked confused and Renjun gave her a small smile.
                              "You."
His words knocked the breath out of her, a scoff leaving her lips as pink heat rose on her cheeks, "oh my gosh Renjun, you're ridiculous," she said tucking a hair behind her ear and chuckling.
"I didn't lie though," he said, his intense stare still on the girl, not once faltering to look at the sky.
"Stop it," she said nervous under his gaze, bringing her hand up and pushing at his chin so he's facing the sky.
His mouth fell open- it was the first time he had actually seen it, and it was amazing.
Just like the sunset he was blown away. It looked different from the moon, but it was just as pretty.
"How has there been this whole world waiting for me this whole time," he started, eyes still trained on the sky as Jihyun watched him.
"This planet is beautiful," his smile was as bright as the stars themselves.
If only everyone he knew on the moon could see this. His mum, Jaemin, Chenle and Haechan, if only they could experience the same beauty Renjun was currently experiencing.
