The faint static sound of the tv droned on in the background as the worker absentmindedly flicked through the channels- waiting for someone to come up to them and buy something.
Renjun and Jihyun stood there in the isles, her hands on his cheeks and the sound of people protesting walked by.
The large crowd flooded the streets chanting their nonsensical nonsense into the world, brainwashing people into thinking the impossible.
Renjun only sighed, reaching up to grab at one of her hands.
"It's okay sunshine, let's not worry about them," he said lowly and began to drag her down one of the many isles.
"Show me some of your favourite snacks."
Jihyun nodded, wanting to keep his mind off of the unwanted loudness of outside, the static sound drilling into her head made a headache start to form.
"Well, I really like Maltesers, oh and skittles! Do you have skittles?" She asked looking up to the boy and he shook his head.
Her jaw dropped in shock and she tsked. "You're really missing out- there'a also red skins, can't forget the chocolate. What about this flavour? Do you have this?" She asked holding up a block of Turkish Delight chocolate.
Renjun once again shook his head.
"Well then, what do you have?" Jihyun asked, wondering if they even ate food up there at all.
"Tafsilberry..."
"Tafsilberry? That sounds made up, but I'm oddly intrigued" she declared, wondering what the so called berry tasted like.
"Its very... Sweet," he said and Jihyun gave the most deadpan expression.
"Descriptive. Anywho, anything capture your interest?" She asked him and he looked at the many options on the shelf.
He let out a hum in shock before picking up a giant bag.
"Marshmallows" he said slowly trying to read the package.
"Yes, marshmallows," he said once more with a hint of proudness in his voice.
"There's this thing Ive seen on the movies, you get a biscuit and Chocolate and melt it on the fireplace, they're called s'mores," she said excitedly and Renjuns eyes widened slightly.
"Can we make them?" He asked and Jihyun nodded her head.
"Uhh, of course. I can't let you go back to the moon without fundamental experiences."
"But you've never had this either."
"Shh shh, that doesn't matter," Jihyun said with a cheeky smile.
"Do you think that's everything?" Renjun asked and she nodded.
"I promise to give you the best day on Earth ever," she said holding out her pinky- and Renjun gratefully accepted it.
The two made their way up to the cash register and as they put their food into the counter they stopped on a news channel.
"News of mass amounts of people are filmed protesting in the streets of Seoul. Banners and microphones indicate that they do not want moon people on the Ear-"
Jihyun grabbed the remote and turned it off- the check out chick not really caring as they handed their shopping back over.
The two interlocked hands once more as they braced to enter the outside world. Jihyun made eye contact with Renjun and gave him a reassuring smile.
It wasn't until the door bell chimed when Jihyun looked at the door, her heart dropping and her body became stiff.
"Hey loser."
