Coronavirus Diary

Day 33 19th April 2020

There are now 2,645 cases in Northern Ireland, 120,067 in the UK and 15,251 in Ireland. I saw an article that said Northern Ireland might have to stay in lockdown until July, which sounds very long.

I set my alarm for 9:30 and I only went to sleep at 8:15 so I was very tired. I got up for the training but the email for it never came through. I'd stayed awake until 9:45 and then I slept for a few hours. I'm very tired now because I didn't get a lot of sleep.

When I got up I watched In for a Penny. There was a funny bit where they had to balance fruit. One person would put the fruit on the other person and they had some time to put the fruit and vegetables on. Then they'd have to balance everything for ten seconds. They got money for every item that was balanced but if any item fell during the ten seconds then they didn't get any money.

Then I did my presentation for my mum and it went pretty well. Mum was happy with the presentation so I emailed it to the lecturer. Hopefully she'll have good feedback and I won't have to change much.

My dad was watching Formula One and I thought it was an old clip, but it was actually real. They were racing using a video game and the people had steering wheels in their house. I'm not interested in Formula One but I thought it was cool that they'd found a way to show it on TV.

Then I watched Britain's Got Talent and I thought the guy on the unicycle was amazing. I think it's cool to even be able to rude a unicycle, but this guy went up steps on it. Then he got onto a giant unicycle and he was nearly at the ceiling of the building. He said that he was up at 22 feet and I thought it was hideous. I'm terrified of heights so it didn't help me with watching it.

There was also a guy on playing a piano and he sung a song about the show. I thought it was quite funny and I enjoyed it. Ant and Dec gave the man the golden buzzer and his kids went on the stage, which was cute.

Although I really miss Britain's Got More Talent, it was hilarious! They showed some really bizarre and awful acts which I miss. And the things Stephen Mulhern would do with the contestants was great. It was there from the very first series but some idiots cancelled the show, so I hope they realise what a mistake they've made.

After that I watched a show that had loads of celebrities on singing and thanking the NHS and key workers. I thought it was really good and it was so sweet seeing Ranj Singh answering the kids' questions.

Then I watched two episodes of Grey's Anatomy. Betty overdosed again and her boyfriend died. I've found Betty a lot more annoying this time round than the first time but she's gone with her parents now, which is good. Meredith got the record for the longest surgery in the hospital and I couldn't believe she was in the surgery for 27 hours.

I'd find it hard enough staying awake for 27 hours without doing a surgery. I don't know how anyone could manage it.

They had a party for Catherine because most of her tumour was removed. Amelia and Owen nearly broke up because Leo and Betty were gone, but the grandparents decided to leave Leo with them.

Alex's mum is going to stay with him for a while and she has had trouble with schizophrenia in the past so Alex was worried about her. But she seems fine.

There was a fire at Jackson's place, but thankfully no one was hurt. It was caused by Meredith because she'd accidentally put plastic in the oven.
