Coronavirus Diary

Day 26 12th April 2020

There's 1,806 infections in Northern Ireland, 84,279 in the UK and 9,655 in Ireland. There's been over 10,000 deaths in the UK which is very sad. Although I've heard that the curve is starting to flatten because of the lockdown, so that's good. Boris Johnson is also out of the hospital which is good.

Today I got up and I watched Impractical Jokers The Movie and I thought it was pretty funny. The best bit was when Joe was in the cave and he pretended that he'd been stuck in there for years. He reminded me of one of the creatures in The Descent so he was kinda creepy.

The tiger in the room with Sal was really scary. I'd be terrified that it would attack me. It had a chain attached to it but I'd still be worried that it could get off the leash.

Then I watched The Jonathan Ross Show, which was recorded last year. It was funny because near the end they all started doing a stripping dance.

After that I watched X-Factor The Band and it was the final. Both groups did a few songs and I thought the girls were a lot better than the boys. Thankfully the girls won the show.

I watched The Kissing Booth again. It's a movie with Joey King, Joel Courtney and Jacob Eloardi in it. Elle has a crush on Noah who's a popular guy at school and the brother of Lee. Elle and Lee have been best friends since they were kids and they have rules, one of which is that they aren't allowed to date each others family members. They set up a kissing booth and Elle tries to convince Noah to participate in it. That's all I'll say in case I spoil the movie.

I'm using parts from the movie as an example of sexism for my PowerPoint. I like the movie but I don't like most of the guys in the movie. For the first half Noah seems pretty controlling and I know I wouldn't want to date him. The only guy I really like in that movie is Lee.

Although Noah does improve when he starts dating Elle, so he's not awful. But the guy who slaps her ass and the guy who drags her towards the hotub when she's saying no are both jerks.

I also watched Who Wants to be a Millionaire and Charlotte Church, Richard Osman and John Barnes were on the show. Charlotte left with £32,000 for her charity because she didn't know the answer and she didn't want to risk losing the money. It was really cool when Charlotte was on because she phoned a friend and that friend was The Beast from The Chase.

I thought Richard Osman could win the whole thing because he hosts two quiz shows and he seems smart. But unfortunately he went home with £32,000 as well because he got the answer wrong. His question was which city is closest to Mexico and he was deciding between one in Texas and one in California. I expected him to get it right because in House of Games they play a game called Where is Kazakhstan; they have to put a dot on where a country or state is. So I thought Richard would know America well, but he got the wrong answer. He also seemed really nervous the whole time he was on and I assume it's because he felt pressure from being so smart.

The last person on was John Barnes and he'd been doing pretty well. But he got a question about the highest hand in poker and the options were a straight, four of a kind, a flush and something else. I've played poker before and I thought it was either a flush or a straight but my dad said it was four of a kind. John didn't know the answer so he asked Jeremy but he didn't know either. He asked the audience and around 50% said a flush, while 30% said four of a kind. John went with the audience and he ended up losing and only taking home £1,000 when he'd had £8,000 before.
