Coronavirus Diary

Day 23 9th April 2020

There are 1,477 infections in Northern Ireland, 61,279 in the UK and 6,074 in Ireland. There are no new infections in Ireland so that's good. I'd say it means that the lockdown is working pretty well. I heard that Boris is out of intensive care so that's good. 

My dad said the government is talking about tracking the phones of people who have Covid-19 and I think it sounds like an invasion of privacy. Especially since they could keep tracking the person, even after the whole thing is over.

Today I got up and watched Spongebob. Spongebob was trying to be scary for Halloween so he dressed as a ghost and pretended to be the Flying Dutchman. The real Flying Dutchman showed up and he was annoyed with Spongebob because his costume was an embarrassment. Then the cloth thing came off and everyone was freaked out because they could see Spongebob's brain. I thought it was really funny and I thought Spongebob looked cute.

Then I did some work on my presentation. I got two more slides done about sexism, so I think that's pretty good. I'll maybe do one more slide on sexism. Then I'll work on sexism in pop culture and then find news articles about it.

I played Skyrim VR and when I was playing it my mum got dinner for me so I had to pause the game. Then when I came back to it the hands were going all over the place and I couldn't get them fixed. It was even running in the wrong direction. So I had to quit the game and fix a few settings.

I went back into the game and I'd seen videos of people being launched into the air by the giants, so I decided to try it. It took a few times because I got killed, but it was great getting launched into the air. It felt pretty cool, like some kind of ride. But I wish they'd let me fall to the ground instead of the screen going black, that would make it way more fun.

Then I went exploring and I went into two caves. The first cave I got through easily, but in the second I was nearly killed by two trolls. I quit the game and I went and got a shower.

When I came downstairs I watched the original Point Break and I thought it was really good. It's a movie with Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze in it. Keanu was with the FBI and he went undercover to find robbers, who his partner thought were surfers. So Keanu had to learn to surf and try to figure out who the robbers were. It reminded me a bit of Fast and Furious. The movie was really good, so if you get the chance you should watch it.
