I'll warn you in advance, there's a rant and swearing in this chapter.
There's 2,728 cases in Northern Ireland, 124,743 in the UK and 15,652 in Ireland. After what happened with my dad today I'm sure the figures are much higher!
I got up today and my parents weren't home so I called my mum but she didn't answer. Then I called my dad and he said that they were on their way home from the hospital. My dad had breathing problems in the morning and he was coughing so my mum brought him to the hospital.
They did an x-ray on his chest and a blood test and they said he has some kind of virus. My dad asked them to do an x-ray on his ankle while he was getting the chest x-ray but they wouldn't do it! And they didn't test him for coronavirus because he wasn't bad enough!
(Start of rant and swearing)
It's fucking ridiculous! My dad was literally sent home with no testing for the coronavirus, so he could be going about the house with it. It was pretty much a wasted journey and the hospital is 30 minutes from our house.
And I'm quite worried about my dad because he's 61, a smoker and he has health problems. I honestly don't believe the figures the government is sending out, it's bullshit! They should be testing as many people as they can, especially if people are going to the hospital with breathing problems!
There are many things I want to say about the government right now, but I'll just keep it to myself as I'm sure you wouldn't want to hear it.
Sorry for the rant, I'm just very worried about my dad and pissed off with the situation.
(End of rant and swearing)
I found out that I was rejected for the teaching course I applied for so that isn't great. It was a pretty rubbish start to the day.
I called my work and thankfully I'm allowed time off until the lockdown is over.
I was looking at different courses to apply for but I think I'm going to take a gap year and look for a job in a caring role. I'm thinking of being a teaching assistant or support worker, but I've no idea when I'd even get a job in that field because of the lockdown.
Then I Skyped my supervisor and I feel a bit better about what I have to do. I'll probably need to start working on it again soon, although I can't really be bothered.
Then I watched The Office. I felt sorry for Michael because Jim threw a party and Michael wasn't invited to it and his improv group didn't invite him out. But Michael crashee the work party and it was funny when he did karaoke with Jim.
They had a Christmas party and they did secret santa. It was pretty funny that Michael bought an ipod or something for Ryan and Michael got an oven glove. Michael was so annoyed about his gift. He even made everyone swap their gifts!
Then I watched two episodes of Pointless and in the final the people picked the year 2011. There were three categories, one was music, I can't remember what the middle one was and the last was players in the champions league final. Barcelona was in the final and I know a lot of their players so I guessed a few and got two pointless answers, I was proud of myself.
I watched Birds of Prey and I thought it was alright. It's a continuation of the DC movies and it had Margot Robbie in it as Harley Quinn and Ewan McGregor. The movie jumped a lot about because sometimes it was in the past and other times it was in the present.
There was a kid who was a pickpocket and she got a diamond and swallowed it. Harley found her and she was trying to look after her but too many people were trying to kill them. So Harley was going to get the girl to poo it out but she couldn't and Ewan McGregor who was the bad guy sent tons of people after them.
The other people who were after the girl all had to team up to fight Ewan and I enjoyed it more at that point. The first half was alright but the last 30 minutes or so was the best.
Then I watched two episodes of Grey's Anatomy and Amelia is fully broken up with Owen. She got together with Link but I can't remember if it becomes a relationship or not.
A woman who was pregnant was in an accident and she had internal bleeding. It was sad because her uterus had to be removed and her baby died. DeLuca's dad went pretty mad because he wanted to put the baby into an experimental bag to keep the baby alive. Alex made him stop his research because he told the mother that her baby could be kept alive.
Maggie accidentally told everyone in a podcast that Richard is her father and he was having an affair with Ellis. He was a bit annoyed at the start but he got over it.
Jo has been thinking about her medical history so she got a test done and she's found out who her real mum is. I know what happens and it's very sad because she finds out that her mum was abused and I'm pretty sure Jo was a result of rape. I felt so sorry for Jo because her mum didn't want anything to do with her, so I'll have to watch all that again.
That's all for today, I hope you're all healthy.
