Day 69 25th May 2020

There are now 4,609 cases in Northern Ireland, 261,184 in the UK and 24,698 in Ireland. I've heard that a lot of people were out over the bank holiday which isn't good.

Today was my mum's birthday and I went downstairs, expecting to open presents, but my dad was outside. Our lawns are horrible now, my dad paid to get a guy to put stuff on to help the grass. It's all brown and muddy looking, but dad says it'll help the grass.

Mum got flowers and chocolates from my sister, books from my dad and I got her a blanket, makeup bag and chocolates.

Then we went and watched The Chase Family and the family was from Antrim in Northern Ireland. They were all really smart and the dad got £7,000 to start with but he went for more money. He got through and then the wife and kids got through with their middle offers.

They'd got £49,000 in total. Unfortunately in the final they were only 17 steps ahead and The Vixen caught them with about 6 seconds left.

After that we watched the last three episodes of Normal People. Connell's friend from school killed himself, which made Connell depressed. It was quite sad.

Marianne's brother threw a glass at her and then she was running away and she tried closing the door, but the brother whacked it open. Her nose was bleeding and possibly broken. She called Connell and he looked after her.

Near the end Connell found out that he'd got into a writing course in New York, at the start he said he wouldn't go because he didn't want to leave Marianne. She said he should go and at the very end he decided to go. But Marianne said that they can't promise to stay together. I thought the end was pretty disappointing, but given how dark parts of the series were I knew it might not have a happy ending.

I watched Gangs of London, after about 30 minutes I decided I wasn't enjoying it. So I had a nap while my parents watched it. They'll watch it when I'm not around because I didn't really like it.

After that I watched Chicago Fire and I've really missed it, because my dad wouldn't let us watch it for ages because he doesn't like it. They were looking for someone to replace Otis and they got called to a guy hanging on the side of a building by a rope. A guy from another station climbed up using the balconies and it was very tense, I thought he was going to fall. He helped the guy until the others got the ladder up.

Matt and Kelly wanted the guy to join their station but Boden thought the guy was too reckless. Thankfully they convinced Boden to let him join and the guy seems nice.

Mouch bought Otis' share of Molly's, so he's now a partner at the bar. I'm glad because otherwise Herrmann might've had to sell the bar.

Sylvie left Kyle and went back to Chicago because she didn't like small town life, which is good because she's one of my favourites.

There was a teen in prison who'd been beaten up and the guards were very reluctant to let Sylvie and Emily take him. They got him to the hospital and they suspected that the guards had hurt him. They got a guy from social services involved and with his help they got the guy transferred to another prison. And the police are investigating the bad prison because many of the teens complained.

That's all for today, I hope you're all doing well.
