Things were tense, Cas and Dean had fought earlier in the day..it was bad
Cas hated to fight with Dean- he hated it, it was like the only way he'd show emotion with the angel
But Cas didn't want that, he sighed "Look..Dean I'm sorry-"
"Don't Cas, I'm not in the mood"
Cas stood up fast knocking his chair back "Well I am!" Dean stood up as well, throwing his magazine "I don't care!"
Cas' fist tightened and met Dean's jaw making the hunter stumble back, when Dean turned his head back he was angry and he shoved Cas hard against the wall
His hand closed around Cas' throat as he seethed, "Why do you keep..hurting me?-" Cas struggled slightly "You won't talk to me"
"Shut up"
Cas sighed, he stared Dean in the eyes "You know what?..do what you want Dean..I'm done"
And Dean finally saw it..how tired Cas looked, and then he saw his hands roughly holding Cas down
He let go of Cas and the angel was surprised, Dean gulped "I'm not..I don't want to hurt you"
Cas shrugged nonchalantly "Then why do you keep doing it?"
"I'm doing it because I love you!" Dean exclaimed loudly making Cas flinch, Dean calmed down and stepped forward, he cupped Cas' cheek with his hands "I love you..so much Cas" He'd barley realised that he'd been the cause of most of Cas' pain
Cas gripped Dean's forearm tightly and a tear rolled down his face "No you don't..if you did you wouldn't keep..doing this to us"
Dean pressed their foreheads together, they were both crying "No-no- I love you Cas I swear..I'm an idiot for not seeing it before but I need you Cas- please..don't give up on me"
"I would never..I love you too Dean" Dean kissed him softly "I'm sorry angel..I'm so sorry, I just get so angry and I hate that I take it out on you..I'm just..frustrated"
"It's okay Dean, I'm at fault too"
Dean averted his watery eyes "You're not supposed to make me feel better..I was a dick" Cas smiled "Yeah well I was too"
Sam cleared his throat "Um..guys?"
Dean turned to his brother, they must not have heard him come back, he stepped away from Cas "Sam" He turned back to Cas and the angel nodded in understanding
Dean walked Sam into the kitchen preparing to talk to him but when they got there he didn't say a word
"Dean?- you wanna start talking?.."
"..well how much did you see?"
"All of it"
Dean sighed, "You don't understand so don't try" Sam scoffed "Try what?- is this what you guys do now?- just push at each other?- you clearly love him- and he loves you"
"I know he does" Dean forced out "We're gonna try Sam" Was all more he said before he began to walk out
"Dean" Sam said grabbing his brother by the arm "Don't ever hurt Cas like that again, I know you two have been beating on each other, it's not right- you're not dad- neither of us are" Dean looked down shamefully "Be better"
Dean nodded "Yeah..I will"
