Third Person's POV
"Are you sure you're gonna be alright, babe? We still have time if you change your mind." Allen said when they had a breakfast this morning.
"I'm sure, I didn't feel anything serious yet." Sam chuckled as she took a slice of omelette into her mouth.
Today is the 8th day past after her due date and Samantha will be alone on their house. Her husband has to attend an important meeting with the new clients. Allen decided to have a parental leave until their baby is born, he told his assistant that it might be impossible for him to leave his wife now. Sam, on the other hand, understands this kind of situation. She, of course will didn't like the idea of being alone at her condition but she knew that this meeting is very important to MC. So, they argued about it last night and decided that Allen has to go to the meeting in the morning.
Her doctor predicted that the baby must be coming a week ago, the couple even prepared and packed things they needed. Unfortunately, when the due date came, nothing happened. On the third day past her due date, her husband insisted to have her check again because he was too afraid that something wrong will happen to Sam and their baby. The doctor said that the baby is perfectly fine and there's nothing wrong with the delay of birth. But the doctor also reminded them that if the baby doesn't come out in a week, they will induce the labor which Sam really hates, actually.
"But still, I'm just so worried to leave you all alone here." Allen hang his head low. "Why don't you call mom or Yesha or Sandy since she has some experience on childbirth to accompany you while I am not around?" this earned a cute giggles from his wife.
"No, silly. Yesha is out of town, Sandy is busy taking care of her children and she has to go to work also. And my mom? She will just be as nervous as you are so no."
"How about my mom then?" Allen insisted and grab his bag to search for his phone.
"Babe, your mom is in LA."
"Oh shoot. I forgot." he brushed his hands off his face.
"I'm fine, you don't have to worry about me at least until now. Besides, you're just having your meeting until before lunch, right?"
"Yeah, but-"
"Come on, get out of here. You'll be late for your meeting!" Sam finally ushers her husband out of their house because their talk will not end there if she didn't.
***
Sam actually did feel a little contraction right after she's washing the dishes. She initially thought that it was just her baby kicking but she thought wrong. She couldn't help but winced at the pain and puts her hand around her belly until the pain subside. She lets out a sigh and continue what she was doing but her mind had told her that it might be the first stage of labor. She immediately kicked off that thoughts because she didn't want to panic now. Not when her husband isn't with her.
