Izuku's POV
As I watched my ash blonde friend ganging up on someone, my mind went blank as my body ran towards them. I got in the way of Kacchan and his friends from hurting the stranger I knew nothing about.
Katsuki: "Deku? It's been so long since I last saw you. When did we see each other again, oh that's right, it's when you said that you were worthless." he said as he grinned while his friends snickered behind him.
I was shocked at his statement, he acted differently now from the last time I saw him. I couldn't think more about it, so I shook my head as I made eye contact.
Izuku: "Wh-What do you think you're doing?" I said to him as I stuttered, I hadn't realized yet but my body was shaking and I didn't know why.
Katsuki: "What does it look like, DEKU? We were just putting someone in their place, those below me should know their place." he said to me as if it was common sense. "NOW, I suggest you leave, unless you need to learn your place too," he said to me as mini-explosions came popping out of his hand as he punched his hands together.
I saw his friends also activating their quirks as they were preparing to fight. My body was still shaking, but I knew that I couldn't allow them to continue to hurt the kid behind me, so I turned my head towards him as I mouthed out the word "run", he understood me and ran. I turned towards my friend as he just smiled at me.
Katsuki: "It seems you made your decision." he said as he started charging at me.
I tried to move my body but I just stumbled as I was met with an explosion to the face. I fell to the ground, confused about what was happening to me. I was so deep in thought that I didn't realize that one of his friends started piercing me with his fingers as they stretched out from his hands. I cried out from the pain, although I was met with pain every day, that doesn't mean I was used to it. He finally let me go as I was out of breath, thinking it was all over, I tried to stand up. Once I got up, I was tackled by the other friend as he swooped in with his wings as he headbutted me. Once again I fell to the ground as they each took turns beating me up.
They left after 10 minutes, leaving me with more bruises and cuts with me out of breath than I already was from my training. I got back up as I assessed the state of my body while also thinking why I couldn't do anything while they were beating me up, I had practiced so many times but I wasn't able to put anything I have learned to good use. I limped away as I headed towards Daichi's place, while my place was closer, I didn't want my mom to worry.
As I was walking, I passed by many people where many made eye contact with me but chose to ignore me, seeing as how it wasn't their problem. It took me an hour to get to Daichi's place while he was still in his martial art classes. Hoping someone would answer, I tried knocking on the door multiple times. After a while, Daichi's butler came to open the door as he looked at me surprised as he quickly brought me inside as he closed the door behind him.
Butler: "What happened to you, I would think that Akio-san would tend to your injuries and wouldn't leave you like this?" he said to me as he crouched down to my level as he took a look at all visible injuries.
Izuku: "It wasn't him, my friend did this to me as I was trying to stop him and his other friends from hurting another person." I replied back to him as I started to cry a bit.
Butler: "Friend?! What kind of friend would do this to you?" He said to me with a hint of fury rising in his voice.
Izuku: "C-Can we n-not t-talk about it? I d-don't want t-to explain any f-further." I replied back as I started to stutter on my words as tears began to fall onto my cheeks.
He only nodded as he walked me over to the bathroom to tend to my injuries. While he was bandaging me up, he then asked me another question.
Butler: "There's something I don't get. How were they able to cause this much damage? I doubt they were that skilled against you since you are training under Akio-san." as he finished covering up the last of my injuries.
Izuku: "I don't know. They used their quirks on me and my body just didn't move to do anything." I said back at him as I looked down depressed.
Butler: "That's not a good enough explanation. I know that Akio-san saw something in you, that's why he decided to train you, quirks shouldn't matter if they were your age, so what really happened." He said to me more firmly.
I was sitting there quietly as I tried to think why I couldn't do anything.
Butler: *sigh* "Let me tell you what I think, you have been conditioned to believe that quirkless aren't able to do anything against those with quirks, this led you to subconsciously affect you where your body didn't act the way you wanted to, so when you saw them using their quirks, you weren't able to do anything.." he said to me as he patted my head. "I know it's an obstacle but don't let it permanently affect you, otherwise you'll never expect growth, don't put all the training that Akio-san did for you to go to waste. Do you understand?" He said to me with kindness in his voice as he got back up and waited for an answer.
I nodded back at him showing that I understood, he reached out his hand at me as I grabbed it. He led me to the hallway and while we were walking, I asked him something I was curious about.
Izuku: "Um, Mister..." I tried to speak his name but I realized I never learned his name despite all of my visits.
Butler: " It's Hiro Suzuki" he answered for me, knowing that I didn't know his name.
Izuku: "Mister Suzuki-san, I noticed you called sensei Akio-san, are you two close."
He began to chuckle a bit.
Hiro: "He and I used to belong to the same brigade. He saved my life and I owe him for that, so I decided to become a butler and also caretaker for his children and grandchildren. I guess you could say that I'm somewhat part of the family." he said to me as he smiled.
He finally led me to the living room and told me to rest while I waited for Daichi. He then left to check on how Ichika was doing, leaving me alone with my own thoughts. As I was laying on the couch, a thought came across me as I started to remember the words that Suzuki-san told me.
Izuku: ("I understand what Suzuki-san meant, but if I can never get over this, will I really not be able to achieve my dream.") I thought to myself as I slowly closed my eyes for slumber.
Author's Note:
I'm really sorry for the late update, again I was mentally drained and my stomach was having some problems. To be honest, I didn't think I was going to write a chapter for the day, but I decided to write it anyway to keep up the daily streak going as much as I could. Also to clear up any confusion, Yes Izuku has faced tougher opponents, so why didn't he do anything against Bakugou. A reminder, he sparred against his opponents when they weren't using their quirks, which was manageable, but to face against somebody who actually uses their quirks is what gives him a mental block, especially after losing every time or brought down by those who used quirks beforehand, which made him believe he can't do anything to stop it although he prepared for it. And to give clarification to how old Akio and Hiro are, I would say they are around in their late 60s to early 70s. That's all I have to say for the day, thank you for reading, and have a good rest of the day.
