Chapter 136: Acting Weird

Daichi's POV:

I pushed myself from the couch as I thought I may have misheard my little sister from my ears being partially sunken into the couch. She rolled her eyes at me, not wanting to repeat herself.

Ichika: "I said that he's undergoing training from Suzuki for next week's party. The one that you were invited to but declined as you told uncle that you were too busy to attend most of the parties." she said to me in her annoyed tone while I stared at her in shock.

I quickly jumped off the couch as I then quickly ran for Suzuki's room.

Izuku's POV:

I was listening to Suzuki-san's teaching on how one should properly display themself, teaching me proper etiquette. I easily remembered each lesson he taught me, and executing them was relatively easy as I thought of it being similar to sensei's lessons, which seemed to make Suzuki-san proud that I was learning quickly. Then the door to Suzuki-san's room was slammed open, surprising me and him, as we both looked towards the door to see that was it Daichi. He stormed over to my direction, keeping his head down, avoiding any eye contact.

Izuku: "Hey Daichi!" I said happily to see him, albeit a little confused why he suddenly slammed the door, "How are you do-" I was about to ask him until he slammed his hands on the table, startling me.

Daichi: "Is it true that you're going to one of the birthday parties I was invited to in my place?" he questions in a scary tone, something that I have not seen from him.

Izuku: "Y-Yes." I answered nervously.

Daichi: "Why?" he questions again.

Izuku: "B-Because I broke the contract, and he's making me make it up by going to all the parties you rejected to go for the year in your place." I said to him as my voice was shaking, scared for what's about to happen.

There was then silence, making it scarier for what's to come. He then muttered something under his breath. I tried making out what he was trying to say, but because I hastened the healing process on my ears, they were still trying to readjust.

Daichi: "Bastard............ How much trouble are you going to cause me?" which sent instant flashbacks of how Ka-cchan suddenly changed when I first told him of my quirk status.

Izuku: "D-Daichi?" I asked as my voice trembled, afraid that I might be reliving the same thing as before.

He then looked up at me with a surprised look, as he then bonked his head while making a silly face.

Daichi: "Scared ya huh?" He says in a more chipper tone, which confuses me what's happening, "Sorry about that, just surprised that you're going in my place." as he returned to his usual self, easing my worries, "Just trying to test you while you're under pressure since I know a lot of rich kids can act all high and mighty, and may even look down on you."

Izuku: "I guess I failed huh?" I said in a slightly joking mood as I was upset that I didn't handle it well while rubbing the nape of my neck.

Daichi: "Yep!" he said in an enthusiastic tone which brought my mood down further as it hurts more when I hear someone else say it, "But that's okay! As long as you remember that none of them can match your brilliance, I'm sure you can gain some confidence to stand your ground." he says with a smile, which brought my mood back up, "Now then," as he turned around to face Suzuki-san, "Which parties will Izuku be attending? "

Hiro: "These ones, young master." as he handed him the envelopes that had the invitations in them, which surprised me as I didn't give him the other envelopes, making myself a mental note to be wary of Suzuki-san's sleight of hands.

He slowly goes through them, checking the name and date on each of them.

Daichi: "I see. So one next week, three in the summer, and one right around the time when we return to school huh?" he said to himself as it looked like he was in deep thought, "Okay, looks like I'll need to make some phone calls to get the presents ready." he proclaimed as he handed over the invitations to Suzuki-san.

Izuku: "Presents? I can get the presents myself, you don't need to-" but he stuck his index finger out, telling me to quiet down.

Daichi: "It's something I should have done myself anyways. You just focus on your lessons with Suzuki." he says with a smile as he heads for the door behind me while Suzuki-san bowed to him before he left.

I turned around to thank him, but when I did, I caught a glimpse of his eyes looking dark and annoyed as I then saw him mutter something. Trying my best to read his lips, the only thing I could make out was the word, embarrassment, which puzzled me on why he would say that.

Suzuki-san soon resumed his lessons as I attentively paid attention to them, still trying to figure out for what context would Daichi use the word embarrassment.

I later returned home, feeling exhausted with how thorough and strict Suzuki-san was that I had instantly fallen asleep when I got to my room and laid on my bed.

No One's POV:

Inside of Izuku's dream, it seems to be a repeat of what happened earlier today when Daichi had barged inside of Hiro's room.

Izuku: "B-Because I broke the contract, and he's making me-" but Daichi interrupted it.

Daichi: "Bastard! How much trouble are you going to cause me?!" he yells out frustrated, scaring Izuku, "Do you know how hard it is being friends with someone quirkless?" he asks with disgust, which seemed to cut deep for Izuku. He then left the room as he said one last thing to him, "Why are you going in my place anyway? You're nothing but an embarrassment." he then slams the door, leaving Izuku to feel empty inside.

Daichi slams the door open again as the cycle repeats itself. In another area of Izuku's subconscious, it can be seen of the two pillars where a bridge connects them, the current Izuku crying out for it all to stop while on the other pillar, an Izuku with darkening eyes and a solemn expression on his face, can be seen yelling out to the other Izuku that it's not real, but it seems he's having a hard time getting to him.

In the real world, Izuku can be seen sweating as he grips his bedsheets, murmuring the words, "Stop it."
