Izuku's POV:
After dealing with another troubling day at school, I was about to be on my way to the dojo, but I was grabbed by the collar of my shirt as I was then pinned against the nearby wall.
Katsuki: "Never try to do something like that again!" Kaachan yelled with two of his 'friends' behind him snickering.
Izuku: "B-but I was trying to help out." I stuttered saying out as my voice got quieter at the end of my sentence, not breaking eye contact with him.
It seems that trying to help out infuriated him more.
Katsuki: "I don't need your help. I don't need anyone's help! I can do things better than anyone can because everyone's below me. And you, you are nothing but at the bottom of the barrel, nobody would pay any mind to you since they'll pay attention to the ones at the top." he then lets go of me as he then walks away, gesturing to his friends to follow him.
I straightened out my shirt as I then pulled out my UCS from my bag, which was in a secret compartment just in case, as I then checked the time. Realizing that the train was going to leave soon, I quickly ran past the other kids as I rushed towards the train station.
I made it to sensei's dojo but I was already out of breath from running. Sensei is very strict when it comes to being late so I had to make sure that I was on time. I walked past the guards as I then walked through the door to see sensei's dojo. I quickly got changed and went to the garden, where I saw him having his snack.
Akio: "You have those special smoke bombs that you've made that I asked you to bring every day?" he says before drinking tea.
Izuku: "Hai! It's in my bag as always, sensei."
Akio: "Good, because we will be working on your senses again." he then got up and went to the training area that is outside of his house. I ran to the changing room to get the smoke bombs and then quickly met up with sensei. I handed sensei the smoke pellets as he then counted how many were in his hand.
Akio: "You know the rules. Once the entire area is covered in smoke, I'll be throwing projectiles at you. Your job is to discern where they are coming from before they hit you, and either dodge or counter them. The game ends whether you get hit ten times, which will lead to a punishment, or you are able to hit me back by whatever is thrown at you, or able to dodge as long as possible until the smoke clears. Understood?"
Izuku: "Hai!" as I then got into my stance.
He nodded at me as he then stepped away to the possible weapons he'll throw at me, and before I get to see what he'll choose first, he immediately set off a smoke bomb at my feet.
I was immediately met with wooden shurikens being thrown at my face. I barely dodged it by bending my back backward. The shurikens flew over me as they then disappeared into the smoke.
I got back up as I prepared for the next attack. And as soon as I got back up, a spear was being sent above me, heading straight down, not wanting to waste too much energy, I took a step back, but then I heard the sound of a bow being shot. I grabbed the spear as it was about to land in front of me and used it to hit the arrow off trajectory.
I kept the spear as a weapon to knock out anything small that comes my way.
Akio: "Good. Being resourceful. But if you have a weapon means that I'll have to take it up a notch." he then cackled.
I tried to find the source of where he was talking, but it sounded like he was everywhere. While I was trying to discern his location, two wooden daggers were thrown at me from opposite sides. I spun the spear to knock down both of them, but as I was distracted by the two daggers, there was a hidden dagger that aimed at my ankles.
Akio: "That's one hit."
I concentrated harder to make sure nothing like that doesn't happen again. I heard the sound of a bow being fired twice, and I saw three rubber arrows coming through the smoke, thinking that the second shot was going to aim at my feet again, I jumped over the three arrows, but when I looked down, I only saw the three arrows that came from the first shot. I was then hit in the head by the arrow that was shot the second time, making me fall on my back.
I jumped back up onto my feet as I tried to calm down. I was remembering the previous times I did this training and trying to see what caused me to fail so many times. While I was in deep thought, I heard the sound of wood being rubbed against each other coming from my right side. I was then met up with a few shurikens heading for my face, but because I already heard the sound, I was prepared to deflect them.
Surprising myself that I was able to deflect them without looking, I decided to close my eyes since I was still relying on them in an area that is hard to see through and used my other senses to see noticeable changes in the wind, any lingering smell from sensei's previous snack, any sounds that sounded unnatural. After putting myself in that mindset, I was able to get an approximation of where he is. I smelt a faint trail of tea leaves as they were heading to my left side and heard him inhale deeply, probably to blow a blowdart. As soon as he exhaled, I immediately prepared myself to block the dart, which I succeeded.
Akio: "Finally you are using your other senses. You were still reliant on eyesight and hearing, which aren't very reliable if I can make fake noise and vision is blocked."
Izuku: "Thanks sensei." as I was proud that I had begun using my other senses.
Akio: "Don't thank me yet. The smoke hasn't cleared yet. And now that you are no longer relying on sight, I am going to make it even harder." Although I couldn't see him, I could feel him grinning at me.
Izuku: 'Oh no.' I thought as I had to deflect and dodge multiple projectiles being thrown at me, where I got hit an additional seven times.
The smoke had somewhat cleared since I was able to see sensei's shadowy figure in the distance.
Izuku: "Sensei, I did-" I was so proud that I had completed the training, but I was interrupted by an arrow fired at my gut, causing me to fall over and hold onto my gut.
Akio: "Never let your guard down. The smoke hasn't been completely dispersed, so the training is still ongoing. That was the tenth time getting hit as well, which means it time for a punishment."
I was still holding onto my gut as he then began cackling.
