Chapter 33: Gift Searching Pt. 1

Izuku's POV

I woke up the next day after receiving the invitation from Yaoyorozu and I was still thinking about what gift to get her. After struggling for a while, it was time for me to leave for work. I packed up everything I needed and headed for the train.

I did my casual greeting to the receptionist, who handed me my security card, and I headed to Nakamura-san's lab. He was having breakfast at a somewhat clean table and waved to me when he noticed me entering through the door.

Satoshi: "Good Morning Midoriya!" he says before taking another bite of his sandwich.

Izuku: "Morning Nakamura-san" as I bowed to him.

Satoshi: "Anything happened this past week, I know that school has resumed." he says.

I didn't want to mention my problems at school since I didn't like to talk about it and I couldn't tell him the thing I was planning to build since I wanted it to be a surprise to him. But after a while, I knew what to say to him, or more precisely, ask him.

Izuku: "Actually, I have a question that I'm having trouble figuring out."

Satoshi: "Ask away." as he takes another bite of his sandwich.

Izuku: "What kind of present do you give to a girl that is around your age and you haven't seen her besides work stuff?" I asked him, which made him choke on his food, and started coughing it out.

He looked at me in confusion before he stood up all serious and walked up to me. I was scared since his eyes were hidden behind his hair, so I couldn't tell what his expression was, but it was frightening to see.

Satoshi: "You have," he says all serious as he grabs me by the shoulder, "a girl that you want to give a gift to!" he says all teary-eyed while sobbing and hugging me tightly.

Izuku: "Can't... breathe." while my face turns blue as I was losing oxygen.

He placed me down and rubbed the top of my head as he apologized.

Satoshi: "Sorry there bud. It's just so nice to know that you have a crush." he says. Before I could say anything, he began his rant of how beautiful young love is and how he hasn't had a girlfriend in high school, and then just devolved into him speaking about his lonely life. He got really depressed afterward which made me keep my mouth shut since it was too awkward.

After a long period of silence, he brought himself up again and asked me.

Satoshi: "So, who is the gift for?"

Izuku: "Momo Yaoyorozu."

He looked shocked at first then sighed as he gave me a saddened look while he placed a hand on my shoulder.

Satoshi: "Listen, you are an intelligent person, so you should know that it won't work out." before I could ask him what he meant, he continued. "She is a person from a rich and powerful family, while you are from the lower class. People won't accept the relationship, so I suggest you look for someone else." I gave him a deadpan look as I just wanted to ask him what birthday gift I should get. I didn't want to try to correct him since he was so fixed on his delusion, so I just sighed as I gave him a nod to signal him that I understood.

After that terrible conversation, we decided to work on how to increase storage capacity for fluids without affecting the wielder who may need to use specific liquids, such as a water-based quirk. While we were working, I was still undecided on what to get for Yaoyorozu.

After my shift ended, I headed to Daichi's place to hang out, but I had to wait for him to come back from his training with sensei. I walked into the living room to see Suzuki-san in the kitchen making dinner and Ichika watching TV, that's when I got the idea to ask her for an idea.

Izuku: "Hey Ichika!" I shouted, which caused her to jump from the couch and glared at me for suddenly calling her out. "So-sorry."

She got up and walked towards me, still glaring at me with a pouty face. She then hugged me as she smiled.

Ichika: "Apology accepted." she then backs away from me while smiling. "So why did you suddenly shout out my name?"

Izuku: "You're a girl, right?" which just earned me a deadpan look from her which made me apologize. "Sorry, bad wording." as I scratch the back of my head while smiling. "I meant, do you know what would be a good gift for a girl?" while she still gives me a deadpan look.

Ichika: "Why are you asking?" she asked while raising an eyebrow.

Izuku: "I was planning to give Yaoyorozu a gi-" before I could finish my sentence, I felt a punch to the stomach and I saw Ichika a bright red as she then huffs and storms off into her room. "W-Why?" I wheezed out.

Before I blacked out, I see Suzuki-san shaking his head and mumbling something to himself before blacking out.

Hiro's POV

I was making dinner while overhearing the young misses and young Midoriya's conversation. After hearing him talking about a gift for a girl, I already knew what was about to ensue. I continued making dinner until I heard the gut-punch and the young miss storming off. I look over to see young Midoriya on his knees clutching his stomach with the look of confusion on his face. I shook my head as I mumbled to myself.

Hiro: "If only the young miss can be true to her feelings." I said quietly so that only I can hear myself.

I then heard a loud thud, which made me look over to see that young Midoriya had passed out. I chuckle to myself a bit since he is able to endure training with Akio but can't withstand a punch from the young miss. I was thinking to myself on however intelligent he may be, he is completely dense when it comes to love. I turned off the stove as I went over to young Midoria's unconscious body as I went and picked him up from the floor and placed him on the couch.

I checked the time to see if I had time left for myself for tea, which I then started brewing some sencha tea that arrived last week as I then waited for the young master to come home.

Sorry for the short chapter, I'm trying to get ready for the next story I plan to create. It is called "What if... (Dekuverse)" and the prologue should be posted tomorrow. Go ahead and check it out if you're interested, it will be a somewhat an izukuxharem thing but I won't try to force it down your throat, I will try to be light with it. Feel free to give out ideas for AUs, I have 6 planned AUs right now, and if you suggest and I like it, I will give credit and I'll try to plan it out for a chapter.
