Izuku's POV:
I walked behind Miss Yaoyorozu-sama, alongside Yaorozu-san, feeling quite nervous as I remembered the last time I was at a high-class party. I started getting cold sweats with each step I took, knowing that I'm not only just going in as myself, but as a representative for Tanaka Corporations.
I was so deeply nervous that I failed to notice that Miss Yaoyorozu-sama stopped right in front of me, causing me to bump into her.
MY: "Oh!" She said surprised as she looked behind while I slowly looked up nervously, feeling that I'm going to face death, having her threat to the security guard fresh in my head, "You need to pay attention to your surroundings at parties like these. Remember, how you act reflects the behavior that is accepted at the company you represent." she says to me, making me feel nervous even more than I already am. She looks over at Yaoyorozu-san, "Now honey, I'll be leaving you alone to meet with the other adults. Remember to act prim and proper in front of kids." as Yaoyorozu-san gave a head nod before her mother then left us while I was still scared stiff as I clutched onto the present.
Momo: "Midoriya-san?" She questions curiously as she starts nudging me while I remained unresponsive as I was too lost in my own thoughts, replaying the worst scenarios, "Midoriya!" she shouted this time as she violently shook me violently, scaring me straight as my eyes readjust to look back at her.
Izuku: "So-Sorry. Just butterflies in my stomach." I said to her, giving a nervous laugh, trying to make light of it but as I glance over at her, Yaoyorozu-san had a worried look on her face, making me stop as I look down and hugged onto the present tighter, "I'm scared I might be a laughing stock." I said back to her gloomily.
Momo: "Laughing stock? But you seemed perfectly fine a minute ago before we went inside." she retorted back.
Izuku: "That was before realization had set in. I was okay at your party, Daichi's, and Ichika's despite you guys being higher up in society since I was able to make friends with you, but here, I don't even know what the person looks like for the party I had attended. I only had one week to learn how to act properly, even Daichi gave me a few pointers on what's going on in the business world, but it's not enough. Not only do I have to worry about how I look to others, but they're also looking at the company I'm representing, and I don't want to ruin the image since I'll only be causing Daichi trouble." I said worryingly looking down.
She didn't say anything as I heard her footsteps trail away, which shocked me as I thought she was going to give some encouraging words, but that's me being wishful. I had relied on others to get to where I am today. They say it was my own skills that brought me to where I am today, but without their recognition, without meeting them, would I still reach the same point or would I only falter. I stood there silently, not wanting to move from my spot, thinking that if I didn't show myself but still say that I did come, I wouldn't embarrass myself and cause trouble for Daichi.
I then heard familiar footsteps. Curious, I slowly looked up to confirm if I was right. I was soon handed a small platter of food that was right in my face.
Momo: "With all that stress, you must be hungry." she giggled. Feeling my stomach growl, I carefully placed down the present as I then grabbed the plate. "I know what you're going through." she said suddenly, surprising me, "When I was six years old, I was so scared and timid of meeting other people since I was primarily raised at the mansion, having rare chances of going out ".
Izuku: "H-How did you get over it?" I questioned as my mouth was still full, causing her to chuckle.
Momo: "I didn't." She said back to me, shocking me, "About once every three weeks, I go to one of my parent's partner's child's parties where I'm constantly reminded of the stress I deal with being the daughter of the Yaoyorozus." I soon quickly felt no hope for me, that there was no chance for me to attend these parties, "But after a long time, I realized that there were things that I should look forward to rather than stressing out at these events." she said happily as she put her hands behind her back.
Izuku: "And what was that?" I questioned, which seemed to startle her as she started blinking nervously.
Momo: "The point is that you just need to find out what is waiting for you on the other end after all of this is over. If you picture something, you can stand tall as these are minor obstacles to the end goal. " she says back to me, ignoring my question, but her advice did help me a bit.
I stopped to picture things that would make me excited after all of this was over. I soon put on a smile as I was more excited than I was stressed, which made Yaoyorozu-san smile as well.
Momo: "Good. Now let's go, we're late." she said excitedly as she pulled me by my arm while I had to swiftly pick up the present on the ground as we then made our way to the room where the party was hosted.
