Chapter 23: Music

Izuku's POV

I took out my notebook as I began writing down how the nano-machines would work. After being inspired by how I controlled the drones simultaneously with the UCS, I figured I could control the nano-machines the same way but way smaller and a lot more to control. I may need to include some programming to simplify how I would control them.

After spending some time in the garage after writing some notes, I realized it was time for me to go, so I said my goodbyes to Daichi and Suzuki-san but Ichika wasn't there, I figured that she was still mad at me for some reason. When I got home, I began doing some research on what went wrong with creating the pellets for Yaoyorozu.

The rest of the weekdays was spent doing the same thing, training with guns with sensei with some CQC later, then the afternoon I would hang out with Daichi while Ichika seemed to return to normal -- I still don't know why she was mad in the first place --, and at night, I would do some research for nano-machines or the pellets for Yaoyorozu.

Then the weekends came and it was time to tutor Yaoyorozu again, and, like last time, I grabbed my things as I began putting them into a bag and the boss's driver came to pick me up. Unfortunately, I didn't have the pellets ready, although I have an idea on how to create them, they won't be ready for another week. I arrived at the Yaoyorozu household, where the mother was waiting for me.

MY(Mommy Yaoyorozu): "Good to see you Midoriya-san." as she smiled at me while I walked up the stairs.

Izuku: "It's good to see you too Miss Yaoyorozu." as I bowed. "So where is she?" as I got back up while I tried to look behind Miss Yaoyorozu to find her daughter.

MY(Mommy Yaoyorozu): "Oh, she is in the music room practicing the piano. She said she wanted to get more practice in before you came. You know where that is, right?"

I nodded at her as I walked inside to find the music room. As I arrived at the door of the music room, I heard the piano playing through the doors. I slowly opened the door as I snuck my way in on her playing the piano. Her back was facing towards the door, so she didn't notice me enter, she was playing on a white grand piano as she looked like she was enjoying herself. I recognized the music she was playing as 'Happy', a pre-quirk era song that was popular back then. I stumbled upon some music from the pre-quirk era as I was doing some research on the history of quirks, I got into some of the music that I made a playlist out of them.

After she was done, I gave her applause which made her jump out from her seat.

Momo: "Mi-Mi-Midoriya-san?! How long have you been there?" she asked as used the bench to pull up her body from the floor with her face a bright red.

Izuku: *Small chuckle* "Only for the beginning of the song. And what are you mad about, you did great, it really sounds like 'Happy'. "

She became even redder at my compliment.

Momo: "Be-because it's embarrassing to play in front of an audience." she shouted as she closed her eyes.

I tried to hold in my laugh as I knew how it felt to perform in front of others, but I let a few laughs out since her reaction was too funny. She looked at me with fury while I wiped off some possible tears from my eyes.

Izuku: *laughing dies out* "Okay, now it's time for your tutoring." I gestured my hand to follow me while I headed for the door.

Momo: "No!" she shouted. I stopped walking as I turned around to see her still mad. "Since you saw my embarrassing side, I get to see your embarrassing side too."

Izuku: "Wh-what do you mean?" I asked nervously.

She had a huge smirk on her face when I asked.

Momo: "I want you to sing."

Izuku: "Wh-what? But I never sang in front of anyone before. I don't even know if I'm good or not, I only know the songs."

Momo: "And how do you think I felt?" she shouted as I took a big gulp. "Good! Now, do you have any recommendations? I'll play the melody while you sing." as she sat back on her bench while her hands were hovering over the keys.

Izuku: "Wait, you're going to help me?"

Momo: "Of course, I know it's difficult to sing acapella. So if you have any recommendations, I can play it if I know it."

I stopped to think for a moment while I decided what song I wanted to sing.

Izuku: "Do you know 'Believer' from Imagine Dragons?"

Momo: "I think I do, does it go something like this?" as she started a bit of the song.

Izuku: "Yeah, like that! Okay, are you ready?" she nodded as she started playing.

After we finished, I was out of breath as I saw Yaoyorozu looked amazed.

Momo: "Wow, that was really amazing. I didn't know you can sing so well" as I saw sparkles in her eyes

Izuku: "Me either." while I wiped a few sweat drops from my head.

Momo: "By the way, why did you decide to sing that song." she looked at me curiously.

Izuku: "I don't know. I just felt a close connection to it."

Momo: "What do y...." before she could finish her sentence, she was interrupted by some applause.

We looked at where it originated from and saw her mom at the doorway with a few of the servants behind her.

Momo: "Mother!? What are you doing here?" as her face turned red.

MY: "Oh, I came to check if Midoriya-san was able to find the music room. What I didn't expect was for you two to play a song together, and I was amazed by the performance." as a few of the servants' nod in agreement while Yaoyorozu and I got more red from embarrassment. "Looks like Midoriya-san won't only help you academically, looks like he is also capable of other things as well." she smiled.

Izuku: "Wh-what? I have no prior knowledge of music and this is my first time singing?" while I complained about the current situation.

MY: "Oh? Well I guess you guys can help each other than when you're done tutoring her." while a smirk appeared on her face.

I just sighed in defeat since she was determined to make us practice together. I said I was going to do it, which made Miss Yaoyorozu very happy as she left the doorway along with the rest of her servants. I looked back at Yaoyorozu who was still slightly embarrassed that this was going to be a weekly thing whenever I was going to come over to tutor her.

Izuku: "Are you ready for your lessons now?" I asked, to which she nodded.

She got off her bench as she then followed me to her room as we began her lessons
