Izuku's POV
Some time has passed since the dress incident and now it was the day before Yaoyorozu's birthday. I have already finished the song and prepared a small memento for her to keep. Unfortunately, her birthday was on a weekday, so I had to tell sensei that I wouldn't be there to train.
~~~~ Flash Back to Last Week~~~~
While I was at the end of my training, finishing it off with some CQC practice, I was taking a small break, where sensei had brought a plate of sliced apples. We were enjoying the cool winds of the season since fall was here, it was so quiet and peaceful. I needed to tell him but every time I tell him that I won't be able to attend his training, he always has this devilish smile on him whenever I tell him that I can't come, which would always haunt me. After calming down my nerves, I was finally able to tell him.
Izuku: "U-Um sensei, I won't be here on Wednesday since I'll be going to a friend's birthday. The one I told you about how I struggled to find a gift for." I said while I shut my eyes.
There was nothing but silence and the rustling of the leaves from the wind. If there was silence, that could only mean one thing. I slowly opened my eyes to take a look at sensei, and there it was, the smile that always scares me whenever I plan to miss a day of training.
Akio: "Looks like I will have to train you harder until the next week to make up for the day you will miss." he says while keeping his smile up.
Izuku: 'Here we go again.' I thought as I got very nervous.
~~~~Back to the Present~~~~
I was laying on the training grounds exhausted. I was out of breath and my throat felt so dry it was like a desert. I heard some laughter erupt from my sensei as he enjoys his meal while watching me suff- I mean train.
Akio: "Good job. As expected from my student, a week of nothing but rigorous training that not even my old comrades can last." he then continues to laugh. "Come on then, just a few more sets and you're done for the day."
I was too tired to move, let alone respond to him, so he then gets up from the tatami and heads over to me.
Akio: "Here, this will make you move again." as he drops something into my mouth.
I didn't notice it until I let it rest in my mouth for a while, that's when my sense of taste and smell kicked in. I quickly got up as I ran for the pond to wash the taste out of my mouth. I quickly turned around to see that sensei was laughing out loud as he began slapping his knees.
Izuku: "WHAT WAS THAT?!" I yelled.
Daichi: "Surströmming. A Swedish fish that's been fermented for two months. It would always get my cadets up and running whenever I present it. I was lucky to find that I had a can left when I was cleaning up the storage." he says. I just sigh at this side of sensei that I rarely get to see, and whenever I do see this version, it's always a pain to deal with.
Akio: "Now that you are up, let's finish the last few sets."
Now that my body had the adrenaline going throughout it due to the shock of the worst taste I ever had, I was able to complete the remaining sets of my training. I was so exhausted afterward that I collapsed as soon as I finished, hitting the ground hard.
Akio's POV
As soon as I saw my student knocked out, I knew that it was a time to call it a day. There was still some time left until my grandson's driver arrived to pick him up, so I decided to lift up Midoriya and place him in the guest bedroom.
Over the years that I had supervised his training, I was always impressed by his continuous improvement. He is able to take on all the skills I have learned over the years, with the help of my quirk, and he was able to learn nearly half of them in just a few years. When I first saw him, I doubted what my grandson had told me, but once I had seen the fire in his eyes blazing with determination, I knew it was the right call to train him. His determination to become a hero and his intelligence are what brought him so far in his training.
Although his determination is what fuels him, I still notice the injuries he has when he comes from school. This always boils my blood since he didn't ask to be born quirkless, but since I am essentially locked in my own home and he never talks about it, the most I can do is train him in hopes that it'll help him defend himself. But how powerful are his bullies? He is receiving training from me and he is on par with many skilled veterans by now, how is he still getting injured?
Before I can think about it further, I hear the car horn to alert me that his pickup is here. I look back at my student to notice that he is still unconscious. I just sigh since I know that my increased training regime is nothing to scoff at, so I just let him have his rest as I pick him up and carry him to the front gates.
As I walk over the gates, I notice the two guards at the front gates take notice of me as I carry Midoriya. I give them an unfazed look as I open the back seat to the car and lay down Midoriya onto the seats. I gave the driver the signal to go, which he started the gas and then left.
Guard 1: "It's time to head back inside mister Tanaka."
Akio: "Yeah yeah I know. Don't get your panties in a twist. I was just trying to make sure that my student is able to leave comfortably." They didn't say anything back as they just stood there with their hands behind their back while they waited for me to head back inside.
Akio: 'Where did I go wrong in raising Fumihiro?' was the last thing I thought before I headed back inside as the guards then closed the gates behind me. I look back at my house as I remembered the times where my wife and I, along with Fumihiro and Benjiro, would just play with each other like the good old times.
I sigh one last time as the scene slowly fades back into the present scene, where I am the only one left living in this house. I head inside the house as I play my wife's favorite song while I drink tea, sitting there in peace.
Author's Note:
Hello there, I would just like to say that I had accidentally changed how the inner thoughts changed from this ("") to this ''. It is due to changing the way I write thoughts in my other story which I forgot to change for this story. I'm just going to keep it like this so that I don't have to bother with knowing what correct format I should write in. Anyways, thanks for reading, and have a good day.
