Izuku's POV:

I had no idea what I was thinking, I was way in over my head. I couldn't defend myself at school but yet here I am, facing an actual villain. I thought I was crazy for doing this, but Mei's parents need time to call for help and all the training I have done was in preparation for occasions like these. Although I wasn't confident, I was determined to stop him here.

Leader: "Hahaha. What's this? You let everyone else go but leave yourself behind. That was really stupid of you!" as he then fired another shot at me.

Although the blast was fast, it wasn't as fast as sensei throwing shurikens and kunai knives at me. I easily dodged it, but my senses warned me of an attack coming from behind. I swiftly turned around to block it, only to be met with a heavy bludging object, which easily bruised my arms.

Leader: "Hmm, I have to admit, not only do you have skills, but you also have strength. Making this all the more fun." he then kicked and swept my supporting leg, making me fall on my back as he continued swinging his heavy thing.

I quickly placed my hands behind my back as I then propelled myself to dodge the swing and jabbed him with my legs at where I assumed his jaw would be. I heard him take a few steps back as he grunted. I could hear he was displeased with me as I then heard him drop the object.

Leader: "No more messing around." I then saw 10 flashes of light as they were shot at me.

The lasers he shot were smaller in size but they were much faster than the previous one-shots he did. I dodged a few but I got a few hits on me, which isn't as painful as the last one, which I heard shatter the concrete floor, but the ones he shot this time did burn.

Izuku: 'He must be using his hands to fire lasers considering the angle they're being fired at. He can change the size for either speed or power." I was quickly muttering to myself as I tried analyzing his quirk while I dodge any lasers at me.

It was hard to fight back since he always kept his distance, leaving me to only defend myself. The lasers he shot were fast but the output was weak, meaning that the smoke pellets should have a stronger effect on the lasers since it was light-based. I quickly threw two smoke pellets on the ground, creating a lot of smoke in the area. I had noticed that his laser was fired at me but they had lost their range due to the smoke interfering.

Leader: "Hah, you're a smart kid after all. Using smoke to interfere with my range." I had stayed silent and alert, hoping that whatever tech he was using to see was night vision-based and not heat sensor-based. "Unfortunately for you, technology is a friend to me." I then saw a larger laser coming at me, piercing through the veil of smoke I had created.

I was able to dodge it since it had lost its speed, I then turned to face where it was originally shot but my senses were telling me of danger from behind. I had looked behind me to see that the laser had changed direction and was coming back at me. I jumped out of the way but I was not quick enough. My left leg got caught up in the blast radius, injuring it pretty badly. It hurt to stand up but it was bearable.

Izuku: "How did he do that?" I thought as all of his shots till now were all straightforward, there was no way for them to lock onto me.

Leader's POV:

I've been messing with this kid for a while now. He proved to be entertaining since he is more focused on skills rather than his quirk, unlike the heroes I had faced. He proved to be intelligent as well by creating smoke around the area, making my light beams weaker and making the night vision goggles useless. I had wanted to savor the moment for longer since all exits were shut and I had the surveillance team as a backup if needed, but I couldn't waste any more time since I couldn't risk the slim chance of them succeeding. So I switched my goggles to heat vision mode and planned to use the mirrors I had secretly planted around the place to finish this off. I had aimed where the kid was aligned with the mirror and fired a heavy shot. As I expected, the kid was able to dodge it due to his reflexes but he didn't know about the mirrors, so the beam bounced off the mirror and successfully hit the kid.

Leader: "It's been fun but I need to end this quickly. Such nuisance needs to be dealt with quickly before it becomes a hindrance. With your leg injured like that, you're no longer a problem. As for the family that had run off, I need to show them some proper punishment for even thinking of a foolish idea." I said to the boy as I walked past him and towards the exit of the exhibit.

I then felt a sudden chill down my spine. I turned around to see that the kid was fuming with rage as if he turned into a beast.

Leader: 'Is he using his quirk now?' I thought as I was surprised that I was scared of what was about to happen. I had faced many heroes but none had made me this afraid for my own life.

Mei's POV:

~~~~A Little Earlier~~~~
We had arrived at the entrance of the museum but the shudders were also closed shut to keep anyone from escaping.
MH: "What do we do now?" my mom asked, afraid of what was happening.
I was about to ask dad to use his quirk to smash through the shudders, even if it took multiple tries to do so, but we then heard footsteps coming behind us.
Lackey#13: "It's a good thing the leader told us to keep an eye out for the entrance." one of the two masked people said.
Lackey#14: "Yeah. I thought it was outrageous to put 4 people to guard one hacker, but it seems that we get to take a bit of action as well." as she cackled.
I was frozen in place. I had no idea what to do. I was afraid for what was about to happen next but dad came in front of us.
DH: "I'll hold them off while you figure out how to open the shutters." he said to us.
I wanted to stop him but mom put her hand in front of me.
MH: "It's alright Mei. He'll be fine. After all-" Dad then used his quirk to dash at the people, "when the ones he cares about is in danger-" he then grabbed one of them and planted them to the ground, looking pissed off and steam coming out of his mouth "he turns into such a beast." as I then saw her pupils turn heart shapes.
Mei: 'Huh?!' I thought since this was a surprise to see my dad having such an expression besides his plain unamused face.
