Izuku's POV:
The remaining time I had in recess was spent playing with my friends. We had run around in the playground, pretending to be heroes and villains, exhausting ourselves before we headed back inside for classes to resume. Kaa-chan and I haven't forgotten our tie, so as soon as we sat in our seats, we calmly waited for our teacher to come and give us the next question that she promised us, but she never did.
Teacher: "Alright class. I know this is sudden but it'll be a fun project," which got everyone to perk up, except for Kaa-chan and me since we grew bored of waiting for another question to be asked, "This weekend, I want you all to form a group of four and spend one day together playing with each other, where on the next day, you'll find a few objects that you think best represents your group members and explain why you think it fits perfectly." as she clasped her hands and gave us a smile.
Soon, everyone started getting up from their seats and formed groups for their projects.
Katsuki: "Hey nerd! Want to be a part of my group?" as he just turns his head to ask me.
Izuku: "I can't. I have to tutor Yaoyorozu-san on Saturday and work at Tanaka Corporations on-" I then stopped myself from speaking anymore as I stared blankly at my table. I was confused why I had such a schedule even though I was only 8-years-old, about to turn 9, and it was from well-known families that I wouldn't have the chance to meet in person.
Katsuki: "Are you sure you're alright from that headache? You've been acting strange since this morning." He questions me, breaking me out of my gaze as I turned to Kaa-chan all red from embarrassment.
Izuku: "Ye-Yeah I'm fine. Sure, I'll join your group." giving him an awkward smile, trying to get past the things I just said earlier.
Kaa-chan glared at me, not believing what I said, causing me to look in the other direction to avoid his gaze. It was for a few seconds before he got up from his seat and began looking for other members of our group, making me sigh in relief but still made me ponder why I was saying such things.
The rest of the period was spent coming up with plans for weekends so we would know what time slots everyone would be available at and where we would go to hang out. Then the bell rang, notifying us that the school day had ended. Everyone started packing up and was leaving with their friends. For some reason, I felt like I had to rush in putting away my things so I could leave as quickly as possible, but as soon as I got up, Kaa-chan stood in my way.
Katsuki: "Where are you going nerd?" which made me all jumpy at first, giving him a confused look, "What were you thinking? Weren't we supposed to walk home together?"
I then paused to think, thinking back to all the times when Kaa-chan and I walked home together, which then began my questioning of why I was in such a rush.
Izuku: "R-Right." I said shyly.
Katsuki once again gave me a confused look, probably for acting differently than normal. He didn't bother asking me this time as he then started walking out of the classroom with his friends, as I then stumble on my way to follow him.
During our walk, I heard his friends talking about how great his quirk is and how he'll be a great hero one day.
Friends#3: "Let's not leave Midoriya out in the running. His quirk is for sure hero material." which got the other guys to agree with him.
Katsuki: "Please, my quirk is more powerful than his quirk. But he can be my number #2 when I become the number #1 hero." he says gloating, which got everyone else to agree.
But as soon as they mentioned that I had a quirk, I slowed down pacing, trying to think why me having a quirk seemed wrong, which caused a great distance between me and Kaa-chan.
Katsuki: "Hey nerd!" He calls out to me, breaking me out of my trance, "Why are you so far behind?." he yelled to me as he stood a few meters away.
I stood there, staring at him, not saying a word, uncertain why things sounded and felt wrong.
Izuku: "Can you tell me what my quirk was again?" I asked him with a serious look, which only made Kaa-chan confused why I would ask such a silly question.
Katsuki: "Don't tell me you're having memory problems. Is that why you've been saying weird things all day." but I didn't respond, resulting in him giving a tired sigh, "If you can't remember, for some reason, you're able to increase the pressure someone experiences by pulling them to the ground, similar to increasing a space of gravity." which then resulted in me flashbacking to the time when I first awakened my quirk and my mom was so happy and proud that I had a quirk similar to her's.
Izuku: "Th-That can't be right." I said to myself as I grabbed my forehead, trying to figure out what was the truth.
Although I have all these memories, they were just fragments from a single moment, not a single continuous flow was there as if someone only placed the important parts inside of my head.
???: "Remember." a silent whisper said inside of my ear, causing me to try harder to remember the truth.
That's when the veil started cracking and bits and pieces of memories I don't remember experiencing started appearing in my head. There were fragments of memories of my time training at sensei's dojo, hanging out at Daichi's place, working alongside Mei and Nakamura-san, tutoring Momo at her place and signing along.
Izuku: 'Momo!' I thought to myself as my memories started flooding in and I had remembered what I was doing before I had woken up. I looked back up to Kaa-chan as I then glare at him, "Who are you?" I questioned.
Katsuki: "What are you talking about nerd? I'm your frie-" he started off with but I interrupted him.
Izuku: "No you're not!" I yelled, "No matter how much I want it, no matter how much I wish, dream of it, Kaa-chan is not my friend anymore." I cried out as tears started running down my face, "Everything here is like a dream come true, but none of it's real." as more tears started flowing down my cheeks, "Now who are you? I know you're one of the people who kidnapped Yaoyorozu-san." as I then stare at Kaa-chan angrily, furious at the person who played with me.
The fake Kaa-chan looked confused at first, trying to say things that I was going crazy, but I held firm now that I know the truth. Which made the fake Kaa-chan stop trying to put things back the way they were, as he then tchs.
(Fake)Katsuki: "Too bad. I wanted to give you even more happiness before I could tear it all down in front of you. Oh well." he says in a demonic voice as the area around us starts melting away, revealing a red wavy space around us.
(Similar to this)
I look back to where the fake Kaa-chan use to stand, but his body was warping around, expanding, all until it took one massive form of a shadowy figure.
Shadow: "Might as well go to plan B!" the shadowy figure stated in a demonic voice, reaching its claws for me.
I stood there ready to fight while also coming up with a plan to escape wherever I currently am.
