Chapter 77: Emergency

Momo's POV:

While Midoriya was tutoring me, I noticed that his body movements were sluggish. I was worried that he wasn't feeling well so I asked him if he was okay but he brushed it off as nothing to be worried about, that's when it happened. He quickly grabbed onto my desk as he struggled to keep himself up. He quickly fell to the ground as if he lost all strength in his body.

Momo: "MIDORIYA!" I yelled as I ran from my seat to check on him.

His breathing seemed very irregular and his pupils were dilated. When he closed his eyes, I feared for the worst. I pulled up his shirt to see if there were any other abnormalities, but all I found was his bandages covering up half of his body.

Momo: "MOM!" I yelled.

I got up from the floor as I ran out the door to the hallways, crying out for help. That's when some maids and some butlers came out to see what the commotion was about. I didn't have the words to explain to them what happened, I only pointed towards my room as I was on the verge of tears that something terrible must have happened to him.

They entered the room, surprised to see Midoriya passed out on the floor with irregular breaths. They quickly picked him up as they rushed him to the head butler since he has medical experience before becoming a full-time butler for the family.

Maid: "Everything is going to be alright. Just go to your room and wait while the head checks on the boy's condition." She said with a smile before she left to join the others.

I went to my room just like she said as I sat on my bed, lost on what to do next. I was left to my own thoughts, wondering how Midoriya got those injuries and why he was hiding them in the first place. That's when I came to the conclusion that he didn't trust me. I may be his friend but it looked like I didn't earn his trust. That thought brought me to tears as I began fiddling around with the necklace he gave me, being reminded of the words he sang to me about how I could count on him but it looked like he couldn't count on me which only made me cry harder.

No one's POV:

One of the butlers was running down the hall while the maids followed behind to help the head butler if they were needed. The butler came bursting through the private quarters, where Miss Yaoyorozu was busy sorting through some documents while the head was standing in waiting.

MY: "You better have a good reason for entering without permission so suddenly." She said to the group as she didn't look away from the paperwork.

Butler: "It's the boy!" He yelled, tired from running through the halls, which brought Miss Yaoyorozu's attention as she looked up from her documents.

Her eyes widened to see Izuku passed out in the arms of the butler as it seemed like he was having trouble breathing.

MY: " Arakawa, quickly, tend to Midoriya. You! Help carry him to one of the guest bedrooms. You! Bring the medkit! And you stay behind to explain to me what happened! The rest of you go help assist Arakawa!" She ordered all the maids, butlers, and Arakawa, the head butler, to which they all nodded their heads and quickly followed them.

One of the maids explained to Miss Yaoyorozu about how the Young Miss cried for help and that's when they all saw Midorya already in the condition. Miss Yaoyorozu dismissed the maid as she understood that the only person who knew what happened would be Momo.

She exited out of her office as she walked down the hallway to Momo's room. Once she approached her room, she heard crying coming from the room. She knew she must have been scared because her friend/tutor had collapsed right in front of her eyes, but she knew she had to ask her in order to figure out what happened. She knocked on the door but Momo didn't respond. She knocked again but she called for this time.

MY: "Honey! May I come in? I know it's worrying to see a friend collapse in front of your eyes but I need to know if anything else has happened to him so that he can get better."

The crying had momentarily stopped and the door slowly opened to reveal Momo's puffy eyes and her face wet from her tears. Miss Yaoyorozu pulled out a handkerchief to wipe Momo's face while she was still sniffling. After wiping most of the tears away, she held her hand and led her to the bed as she did her best to comfort her. Momo slowly calmed down.

MY: "Now honey, I know seeing a friend collapse can be worrying and scary, but there is no need to cry. His life isn't in danger and it's not your fault he's like that."

Momo: "I-It's not that. I-I was crying b-because he d-didn't trust me." she said in between each sniffle.

MY: "What makes you say that?"

Momo: "H-He lied to me s-saying that he w-was fine. The-Then he collapsed. Th-That's when I saw the bandages." she said nearly tearing up.

Miss Yaoyorozu quickly hugged Momo as she patted her head.

MY: "I may not know the reason why he may hide it but he does trust you. You may not be able to see it but when you two first played together, he would take quick glances at you to check up on you, but over time, he stopped doing that and you two always looked like you're having fun. You gained his trust, so he must have a good reason for hiding it from you." She said as she back away from the hug, "Now sleep. You need some rest after this."

Momo felt slightly better and agreed to take some rest. Miss Yaoyorozu quietly left the room to find Arakawa waiting outside.

MY: "What's his condition?" she asked in a serious tone.

Arakawa: "The young boy was simply overworked. His body couldn't bear the load so he collapsed. Though, it would appear that he has some cuts and bruises all over his body." Which made Miss Yaoyorozu tick.

MY: "Thank you for taking care of him, you are dismissed." to which Arakawa bowed before he left. Once he was far enough away, Miss Yaoyrozu muttered under her breath, "Are you there?" she asked, seemingly to no one.

That's when a person in ninja gear came out from the shadow near the wall.

Ninja: "Yes madam." as he kneeled before her.

MY: "Find out what happened to the boy for him to be overworked. Along with the injuries." She asked, to which the man nodded before he blended back into the shadow. "Time to finish the paperwork while I wait," she said to herself as she slowly walked to her office.

A/N:

Just to give a quick intro to the ninja. He comes from a small group that does reconnaissance, investigation, and guarding. His quirk allows him to blend into his surroundings, and as long as no one is looking for him specifically, he's invisible to everyone. And yes, he is using his quirk illegally but what rich group wouldn't hire some shadier group to do the dirty work for them.
