Chapter 27: New Partnership

Izuku's POV

The week passed by quickly with my scheduled training and hanging out with Daichi, then came the day for my first meet-up with Hatsume. I picked the place where I usually go to experiment with the chemicals but since I won't be getting the other materials until Sunday, I decided to see what Hatsume was capable of.

I waited at the spot ten minutes before the scheduled time, then forty minutes later, she finally came with a huge box that she was lifting by herself.

Izuku: "Did something happen on the way?" I asked worried that she was half an hour late while carrying the big box.

Mei: "Nothing really, just took a long time to carry my babies. Maybe I should make another baby to help assist with this problem." while she places the box in front of me. "So, do you have everything you need to work on your baby?" she asks excitedly while she gets closer.

I shook my head no.

Izuku: "Actually, today I wanted to see what you are capable of. So for now, I want to see your inventions." as I began slightly pushing her back.

Her face even grew more in excitement as she rushed towards the box and began taking some things out. She then pulled out these oversized boots and began presenting them.

Mei: "These babies are what I call the hover soles, it is still a prototype but this is used to help increase the speed of a person." I nodded my head as I was taking in the information while she began putting the boots on me. "As you can see, your speed is more than double what it originally was due to the reduction of weight in each step." while I began taking a jog with them on. "There is also a 73% chance of them exploding or malfunctioning."

I quickly turned around at what she just said and the left boot started smoking while the right boot just exploded underneath me, causing me to fall to the ground face first. I quickly got up and turned around annoyed.

Izuku: "Are you crazy? Why would you risk someone wearing something so dangerous?"

Mei: "If there are no mistakes, then there is no improvement." she stated, which made me just sigh as I was starting to regret my decision. "Anyways, there are still more babies to show." which just made me shiver about the accidents that may occur.

She once again rummaged through the box as she pulled out another one of her 'babies'.

Mei: "This baby is what I like to call The Wire Arrow. This functions similar to a grappling hook and can allow you to maneuver in the air with it. I saw this in some old manga that had a similar concept." (If you know, claps for you.)

She began putting the thing on me without my consent but just let her since I was interested in this invention. Then suddenly I felt a hand groping my pecs and another on my abs. I quickly look behind me to see Hatsume feeling me up from behind.

Mei: "Wow. You know, it's really hard to tell with your clothes on but you are really defined for your age." she continued feeling me.

Izuku: "U-um, C-can you s-stop that, p-please?" I said embarrassingly, which made her back away. I sigh in relief as I turn to face her. "So, um, how do I use this?" while I rubbed the back of my head still embarrassed.

Mei: "There is a remote button on there that helps shoot and retract the wire." while she pointed in the direction of where it was. I looked around to try to find it then grabbed it, but before I pressed it.

Izuku: "This won't explode on me, right?" I said nervously.

Mei: "No, this baby has the smallest chance of exploding." which made me relieved as I then began pointing it at a tree then pressed the button. "It just retracts way too quickly that it makes the person slam onto the surface." I just looked at her very concerned.
