Chapter 98: Tracking

Izuku's POV:

I've been waiting for two hours for the drones to find any clues to where Yaoyorozu-san was last placed. About 5 minutes had passed and one of the drones had picked up something on its scanner. I ran to the area while I continued the command for the drones to keep searching the city.

When I got there, I tried looking around the area to see what the drone had picked up. From what I saw, it was a one way street with a few tall buildings in the area, along with a few stores as well, but the only people I saw in the area were those who were managing their own business, I walked around for a bit, not managing to find anything until I passed by an alleyway and had seemed to crush something underneath my foot. I lifted up my foot to see what I had crushed, slowly realizing it was the locket I gave to her on her birthday. I slowly picked it up carefully as it was slightly cracked. I clenched it, not minding the shards of metal piercing through my skin as I was blaming myself for letting this happen.

I started looking around for any CCTVs in the area but shockingly there were none I could see. Not giving up yet, I pulled out the schematics of the buildings around me to see if they had any security cameras of their own that may have caught what happened. After seeing that a small clothing business a few blocks down had a security camera pointing directly at the glass entrance that may have caught the kidnapper's vehicles, I ran to that store immediately.

After seeing that the store was closed for the week since the owner was on vacation, I peeked inside through the window to see if the camera was still on, which luckily for me I saw the red light is active. I brought my left arm up as I then used the UCS to search for the camera as a listed wireless device, but the camera model I was looking for didn't appear on screen, which meant that it was wired to something, a computer probably. I wasn't certain which computer it was being connected to since I couldn't see it and the UCS was picking up other traces of other computers from the surrounding area, so I had to search for any other unique wireless devices that the store may use.

After about 10 minutes of trying to find any wireless connections that were connected to the computer, I found a unique sewing machine that had Bluetooth on it, which screamed "Clothing Store Item". I hacked into the sewing machine and reversed the connection to the computer, allowing me access to its files. I searched for both yesterday's and today's footage. I saw a few cars go past the window but nothing really telling of what would be the kidnapper's car.

Seeing as how the sun was setting, I downloaded all the footage that was on the drive as I then walked back home, leaving the drones to continue the search.

Once I got home, I went on my computer to upload the footage. I quickly made a code to check what cars were caught on camera and how frequently they passed by the place so I could narrow down what cars normally don't pass by the store. I went to sleep afterward while the code was running.

Momo's POV:

I slowly opened up my eyes to feel that my arms were tied up behind my back and I felt a collar on my neck. I tried using my quirk to make a knife but they wouldn't activate. I started panicking; I tried getting on my feet to see where I was but my legs felt numb. While laying on the ground, I looked around me to see where I was. I saw a few crates around me and there was a light source coming from a window I couldn't reach. I then heard the sound of a door creaking, followed by footsteps.

I turned around to see a bald man wearing sunglasses and had fairly large muscles.

???: "I see that you're awake." as he crouched down to get a better look at me, but when his hand got too close, I tried biting. He quickly pulled his hand away as he tried soothing the bite mark I left. "Still trying to be tough." I then saw a shadowy smirk on his face.

Momo: "What do you want with me!" I yelled, trying to put on a brave face.

???: "Compensation." He then stood back up and started pacing around me, "Your family has been a nuisance to us for a while and I believe others can agree. So taking you will teach them a lesson and if they want you back, they'll have to follow our demands. " I then heard his footsteps stop right behind me. I slowly turned my head to see that his face was really close to me, which made me scream, and tried to back away from him as far as I could, causing me to sit up against a crate.

Momo: "You-You'll pay for this! The-They won't let you go away Scott free" I yelled back defensively, which only got him to chuckle.

???: "They can try if they want." as he slowly walked over to me while pulling something behind him, "But if they won't give us what we want, we won't give them what they want." as he pulled up a knife to my neck as it started drawing blood.

I was frightened by the sudden knife on my neck, too scared to move a single muscle. He slowly put the knife back into its sheath as he stood back up.

???: "Now let's hope your parents are smart enough to make the right decisions." he slowly walked back outside and shut the door.

I fell to the ground, whimpering, hoping that someone would save me, and the first image that popped into my head was Midoriya.

Izuku's POV:

I woke up early in the morning before my All Might alarm had a chance to go off. I looked over at the computer to see that it was done processing the footage as I then pulled up what cars are unusual in the area. It was able to narrow it down to around 20 cars.

Izuku: 'I will find you.' I thought to myself as I started looking at the list of cars that were listed as suspicious.
