Chapter 96: The Call

No one's POV:

It was Sunday, during the time when Izuku was at work. Mister and Misses Yaoyorozu were in their room waiting for news about their daughter.

MY: "How long is it going to take to find her?" she said worriedly while she sat on her bed.

DY: "I don't know, but we have everyone capable under us searching everywhere for her." he said while pacing back and forth, trying to keep himself distracted.

MY: "I should have gone after her. I shouldn't have let her be." she said blaming herself, "Why can't I make the right decisions when it comes to other things besides business." she said in near tears.

Mister Yaoyorzu stopped his pacing as he walked over to his wife and got on his knees to wipe the tears that were coming down from her face.

DY: "We both agreed to let Midoriya be the one to change our daughter's mind about becoming a hero. You didn't know she was listening in. If anything, I should have altered you after we had just come home." he said sadly, also blaming himself.

While they were blaming themselves, Misses Yaoyorozu's phone rang. She looked at the caller id, only to find it to be an unknown number. She answered it, wondering who it was, but the caller had an obvious voice changer as they spoke.

Caller: "You shouldn't have bothered prying into our business." which immediately made her stand up as she looked serious, making her husband stand up as well as he watches her.

MY: "What do you mean?" she asked with concern.

Caller: "Don't think we hadn't noticed your secret bodyguard collecting information about us for the past few weeks." which made Miss Yaoyorozu have a vague idea of which group was calling her.

MY: "What do you want?" as she looks behind to see her husband being both confused and concerned about what was going on.

Caller: "Nothing much. Just all the latest products from the companies that are working under you for all the annoyance you've been giving us."

MY: "Now why would we do that? If you are the group I think you are in, it would be dangerous to let you run around with those. And don't think you can threaten me with death, this isn't the first time I've been in this kind of situation." which made her husband turn serious as he somewhat understood the situation.

Caller: "We figured you wouldn't be afraid of death threats, but what if it was something you hold dear. Like your daughter for example?" which made her stop for a moment as she then got angry.

MY: "YOUR LYING!" she yells.

Caller: "Are we?" She then heard a message notification on her phone.

She pulled the phone away to see the message. It was a small video clip, but when she played it, it was her daughter in the same dress she wore when she ran away, tied up on the ground, unconscious, with what appeared to be a quirk canceling collar around her neck. She covered her mouth as she gasped. She pulled the phone back onto her ear to listen in.

Caller: "Now that you see we aren't lying, you have one week to gather all the products and to drop them off at the designated coordinations, otherwise you'll never see your daughter again. You can try to call the police. They won't find us in time." They then ended the call while Miss Yaoyorzu had tears running down her face and had crumpled to the floor.

Mister Yaoyorozu rushed over to her, trying to understand what was wrong.

MY: "Th-They got her. A-And it's a-all my fault." she said in between tears while hugging him for comfort.

He was in shock. He couldn't handle the thought of his daughter being kidnapped. He asked her what was happening and she explained everything to him, from her launching an investigation to how they have a week to deliver all the latest products their companies have made. He was desperate and immediately wanted to comply with their demands but she grabbed him and told him how it would be even more dangerous to give such items to these criminals.

DY: "Why is that?" he questions.

MY: "Th-The re-reason why I launched the investigation was because I had suspicions that the Awakeners had come to Japan." which made him freeze and became silent.

DY: "Call the police, Heroes for hire, anyone you can. If what you said was true, we can't be careless if we want to see our daughter again." he then took her hand off his arm as he proceeded to head outside.

He took out his phone and went through his contact list to make a phone call.

DY: "Yesterday, you talked about if I wanted anything in exchange for partnerships for any future projects we may have, do you have a device that can help track down someone?".

???: "Of course. It may take a while to get it ready but I promise you'll have it in four days." which made Mister Yaoyorozu hesitant, but he needed all the help he could get.

DY: "Deal. But remember this, this offer isn't limited to you, if another company happens to get it done quicker than you, you won't get a chance like this again." as he ended the call and scrolled through any other contacts he had that may be of use.

The person on the other end of the call set his phone down as he then stretched his arms a bit.

Fumihiro: "Looks like Nakamura gets to have a break from my little side project." as he then exits his office to call for Satoshi.

Where the kidnappers were located as the call had already ended.

Kidnapper#2: "A week!? They're the richest people in Japan! They have connections to heroes and police officers! They'll find us before they could even draw up the idea of handing over any product they have." a man with green spiky and black glasses complains.

KL(Kidnapper'sLeader): "Even I'm having doubts but that's what they said. Besides, one of the big bosses is going to assist us." he yells back.

They then heard laughing coming from the shadows as they made their appearance.

Akane: "That's right. We'll be helping you out." as she marches out happily while Hiroto follows behind her.

Kidnapper#3: "Great. It's the boss that sabotaged the last group's attack." he said unenthusiastically, which got Akane to stop marching.

She turned in his direction, scaring him, as she continued walking towards him with a smile.

Akane: "You certainly have a lot to say about your boss." as she then grabs him by the chin and gets really close to him.

Her eyes glowed a bright red, which made him live his biggest dreams. Then darkness soon covered the sky as the dream became distorted, darker, grim. Everything he had wanted soon turned against him, all wanting to kill him.

In reality, he was on the ground screaming in pain he thought he was having, begging for it to stop but Akane only giggled.

Akane: "Delicious." as she then licked her lips.

KL: 'So that's one of the bosses. Dream Eater.' he thought as he looked with discomfort for what was happening to his subordinate.

Akane: 'Now then.' as she then walks over to the unconscious Yaoyorozu, 'What will that boy do now?' she thought to herself as she was excited about the future.
