Zöe:

I woke up underwater, I was breathing steadily, taking in large revitalising gulps of it in. Energy pulsed through my body, and I felt better than I had in days.

I would've stayed there forever, contently floating beneath the surface of the stream, no worries, no stress, no heartache. I was really starting to warm to the idea just as a slim pair of arms wrapped around my torso, and I was dragged up and out into the open.

I was expecting Damien, so got quite the shock when I found myself staring up at two young, pretty girls with curly brown hair and big sparkling eyes. “Hello.” Said the one on my left. “I'm Katie, and that's my twin sister Brooke.” I blinked, in a daze. I should've really been more worried, this was probably some sort of trick or scheme. Either that or I was just hallucinating, going completely insane, and creating the two girls up in my messed up imagination.

But I was just too tired to totally comprehend what was going on. “Where's Damien? Where's Danny?” I murmured, slowly sitting up.

The other girl, Brooke. Gently took my shoulder and pushed me back down. “Woah there, you're still pretty weak. You're better off lying still. I'm gonna go get you some ambrosia okay? And then we're going to change your clothes.”

I looked down at my tatty clothing, and then back up at the girls. “You didn't answer my question.”

Katie, or at least I thought it was Katie, smiled. “They're fine. They're waiting up on the track. You have a very protective boyfriend.”

I nodded, and watched as if from a distance, as the girls moved around. I was fed ambrosia and nectar, and a lot of water. Katie gently helped me change, the new clothes were too big, but at least they were clean.

Brooke filled me in on how they had met us while she washed and brushed my hair in the stream.

When she had finished Katie leaned over, grinning and said, “So, I guess we're all one big happy family now, right?”
