Piper:

I leant back against the damp cave wall, and let out a long sigh. My whole body ached, and my legs complained with every movement.

It had been a while since we had fought so many monsters. And I felt as if I was sixteen again, back with my friends on the Argo II. Except back then, I wasn't as rusty.

Training the kids at camp was one thing, fighting monsters for real again for the first time in years was another completely.

I thought about Damien back at camp with Zöe and the others. And I knew logically that they were safe, protected inside the borders of Camp Halfblood. But for some reason I worried, thinking about my son and Percy's little sister caused a tight knot to form in my stomach. I tensed, suddenly panicking, but for not logical reason at all. Something inside of me screamed that they were in danger. But that was impossible. They were safe at camp with Chiron... I was snapped out of my reverie when Leo dashed back into the cave looking flustered and stressed. His usual grin wiped from his face.

“Calypso... Calypso just called. And she says that Katie and Brooke are missing, that they disappeared yesterday. She couldn't call me till today, couldn't get through for some reason. She's been worrying out of her mind, she's went out looking for them, notified the camp. And that's when she began speaking to Chiron, and then he told her that he'd been trying to get through to us, but couldn't. And that, Damien and Zöe and Selena went missing the night that we left. Though of course no one realised till the next morning. Rachel Dare is there too, her boy, Danny, has appeared to gone with them.” By the time was done speaking he was gasping for breath. I sat still and lifeless, frozen. Jason stiffened and sat up, removing his head from my lap.

Leo doubled over and puked over his feet. And it was Nico who caught him as he fainted.

Damien, Zöe, Selena, Danny, Katie, Brooke. All out there somewhere, risking their lives.
