Zöe:

We stood on top of Halfblood hill and the nectar that Damien had given me had finally done it's work.

I stood on my own two feet, and felt much better than before.

Danny didn't even look at all tired from carrying me, only mildly disgusted by the fact that my puke was covering his shirt.

I winced involuntarily. I'm not sure that my vomit was the reward he was hoping for, after carrying me a good few miles. “Oh gods Danny, I'm so sorry.” I said for the tenth time, hopelessly trying to dab the puke from his shirt.

He gave me what looked like a forced smile. “Don't worry about it Zöe, it'll wash.” He replied patiently.

“Yeah Zo,” Damien smirked, coming to stand behind me with his hands on my shoulders. “Don't worry about it. In fact, I think the colour looks good on you Danny. Really compliments those beautiful eyes.” I snickered at that, and then Damien was laughing helplessly. All the while Danny stood there- still scowling- but looking as if he was hiding a smile.

“I hate to interrupt,” said a familiar voice. “But I'd like someone to explain what exactly is going on here.”

I looked up to see Damien's mom, Piper. Still looking as beautiful as ever, in her jeans and camp Halfblood training staff t-shirt. “Mom! I... This is...” Damien stammered, choking on his own words.

“Danny.” Our mortal friend smiled easily, holding out his hand.

Piper hesitated slightly before shaking his outstretched hand. But her face remained grim.

“As much as it's a pleasure to meet you, young man. I'm going to need a good explanation before I can let you through the borders.” She gave him an apologetic look.

“Or else I'll have to send you straight home.”
