Zöe:

Danny's house was more than impressive.

His living room- where I was sat now on a large leather sofa- was huge.

A flat screen TV took up most of the far wall, and the other walls were lined with stacked bookshelves and DVD racks. A stereo sat by the windowsill and a glass table occupied the middle of the room- rimmed by the long leather sofas. “So,” Danny grinned. “Do you like my place?” I looked up at him as he strode into the room, put a tray of snacks and drinks down on the table. And flopped back onto the sofa next to me.

“Like it?” I echoed. “It's awesome.”

He reclined backwards and turned to me. “Good. And don't worry about anyone else getting in the way. My mom and dad are away in Colorado for the weekend and my brother is probably lying in a gutter somewhere, stinking of alcohol.” I raised my eyebrows at that but didn't make a comment.

And instead I said. “Danny. About the other day...”

He let out a long sigh. “I don't wanna talk about that Zöe. What happened... it happened. And... I know you're going through a lot at the moment, you don't need this playing at your mind. So I'm happy to just let it go.”

I let out a breath that I hadn't realised I was holding, and felt my whole body relax. “Thankyou.”

He smiled and shrugged. “So what do you want to do?” He inquired, taking a crisp from one of the bowls on the table.

“Normal stuff.” I replied, as I plucked the crisp from his hand and ate it in one swift movement. “Watch telly, eat popcorn, laze around... I never get to do that stuff. And I need a break from all the craziness of my world.”

He gave me a small smirk. “Well then,” he said, extending his arms and gesturing to the room around him. “Welcome to the real world, my feisty friend. I think you'll like it.”
