Leo talked and talked, I found it hard to concentrate on what he was saying. With his rapid word pace, the contraption he was fiddling with in his hands and the tapping of his foot- he was very distracting. I got the impression the he was even more ADHD than me. And that's saying a lot. “So,” he was saying. “I really am sorry for interrupting your little scene. I would've been happy to leave you guys to it, except for the fact that if my good friend Percy was aware that I witnessed a boy aggressively making out with his little sister- then walked on by and did nothing to stop it- he probably would've killed me.” He shrugged like he was indifferent to the matter. While me and Damien squirmed, faces burning. “I suppose if I caught a guy necking one of my little girls, I'd have something to say about it.” Leo pondered out loud.

“You have kids?” I jumped in, eager to change the subject.

He looked up with a fond smile. “Two ten year old twin girls. Katie and Brooke, they're beautiful, intelligent, witty, quick, kind...” It was touching how fond his eyes had become, as if thinking of his daughters filled him with pride.

But something confused me. “How come they don't come here and train?” I frowned. “Because the gods wouldn't allow it. My wife- Calypso, is half Titan. So she's obviously not their favourite person in the world. They agreed to bless us with mist; so we could be safe in the mortal world. And her immortality was taken away when she left the island. They were good to us, but not good enough. They refused to allow my children to attend camp. To have the experience that every demigod deserves.” His eyes were suddenly distant and sad and I had the strange urge to reach out and hug him. “I haven't step foot here in years, until now. And I've missed it.” And that's when I heard an echo of footsteps; and turned to see another man walking into view, he was tall and thin and muscular, with long black hair that fell into his dark eyes, black clothes, pale skin, and a skull ring glittering on his finger.

“Yeah,” the man shrugged. “I guess I missed it a little too.”

Leo's face broke into a huge grin. “Nico di Angelo, it's been a while.”
