Zöe:
I don't how long we'd been fighting for when it happened. I just know that I was exhausted, scratched up beyond repair- with long, deep cuts covering any bit of bare skin that I showed. I know that my muscles had ached and complained with every movement that I made.
But I also had known, that I couldn't give up.
I was just starting to get the advantage when it happened.
I had rolled over and leaped up, somehow finding energy from some hidden place deep inside of me. I had thrown myself at my attacker, who was practically dead on his feet.
It had tuned out that the boy was a mortal, which was why riptide just went right through him without harm. Luckily I had managed to disarm him earlier to that, and had taken his dagger. And that was my advantage.
I held that blood stained dagger to his throat now, my arm shaking with the effort of holding him down. We were both breathing hard, but despite the knife at his throat- the boy laughed. “You won't do it.” He smirked. “You can't just kill me, right here right now.” I hesitated then. And that hesitation changed everything.
He took his chance, throwing me off him and staggering to his feet.
And then he pulled out the gun.
I lay helplessly on the floor as I struggled to scramble to my feet. The boy winked at me, and turned around. Holding out his arm, hand steady as a rock.
His fingers hovered over the trigger, and finally I moved.
I lunged at him, knocking him to the ground. But not before he could press the trigger, and send a bullet flying through the air.

For
Danny.
