Zöe:

“Zöe, I'm so sorry. I... I... I just forgot. I totally forgot. I... I don't know how, it just slipped my mind! I'm so sorry, this is all my fault!” Selena was babbling on, choked up with tears.

It was Damien who told me what had happened.

He was just practising sword fighting when Selena walked in. It was then that she realised she'd forgotten to tell Damien that he needed to watch the kids. They scoured the camp, and eventually found Bianca- curled up in a ball and crying her eyes out. When they asked her where Charlie was, her reply was that he was ‘took’. That they were playing in the woods- outside the borders- and he was took.

She was being questioned by Chiron now.

He hadn't even looked me in the eye since I came in.

I raised my head now, and reached out to take Selena's hand.

“It's okay, it's not your fault.”

I wasn't sure who's fault it was, but telling Selena that I didn't blame her seemed to ease her guilt a little, so I just went with it.

I stood and brushed down my clothes, swallowing hard to keep back the tears that were threatening to spill. I had to stay calm and composed, I couldn't panic. “I'm going to go and see Bianca. I don't care if she's being questioned, I'm her aunt.” I announced, making my way towards the door.

But then Damien was there. Blocking my path. “Don't Zöe.” He said looking at me for the first time.

I stared at him. “She needs me.” I replied in disbelief, he knew that as well as I did.

Damien looked angry and hurt and a lot of other things that I couldn't describe. “She NEEDED you when her brother got taken by kidnappers. But you weren't there. So I think you've done enough, don't you?” I recoiled like I'd been slapped. The words that came out his mouth weren't like Damien at all. They were cruel and full of betrayal and anger. “That's right Zöe Jackson,” he snapped. “This is all your fault.”
