Zöe:

I threw myself down on my bed, borrowing my head on my pillow- hoping that somehow, it would help me hide from my niece and nephew- who as I had predicted would, were doing my head in.

It had been a week now, since Percy had left them. And in that time I hadn't rested once. If I wasn't teaching them to climb the lava filled boulder, I was teaching them to sword fight. If I wasn't taking them to the forges, I was taking them out on canoes. If I wasn't helping them to shoot I was taking them to see the Pegasus, and so on...

I needed a break.

And it was in that moment of desperation that I made my decision. I bed out of my bed and grabbed my phone from the bedside table- the phone that was only meant to be used for emergencies.

Slipping it into my pocket I walked out my cabin and headed for the hill, stopping only when Selena Rodriguez came into my path. “Hey Selena.” I waved, she turned towards me- eyebrows raised. I took that as my cue to continue. “I'm just going out to check up on things. Can you tell Damien that I'm going to see Annabeth, and I need him to watch the kids?”

She smirked a little. “If you were anyone else I'd tell you to screw off, but I actually like you, surprisingly. So... Yeah.” I tried not to look to astonished as I passed her. Feeling very flattered to be liked by Selena, since not many people were.

But all thoughts quickly vanished from my head as I exited the borders and brought my phone out of my pocket.

I rarely lied. But I had today. I flipped open my phone and scrolled past Annabeth's name, down the list until I found his number.

I pressed the dial button and held the phone to my ear. He picked up on the second ring. “Hey, Danny. I'm coming over to yours. And before you protest and say no just, shut up, okay? You can't avoid my forever. I'll be there within the hour.”

I hung up before he could say anything, and set off through the forest. Away from my home.
