"I think what we need to get clarified here is the sudden accusations. Mr.Yang, have you ever been in for the years of your son's birth and living, physically laid a hand upon Jeongin for the sake of injuring him?" His case manager asked, the woman sitting still in her chair, composed and confident.

And within Jeongin's own blood and veins, he could feel the burning hatred for this woman.

Question like why she didn't ask him about the stories made him wonder if she even cared about the child she had to help or if he was just another case for her to settle down.

"No! I have never, like the investigation shows, laid a hand upon my son!" He yelled, pointing towards the youngest in the room with his old wrinkly index finger.

He was losing his patience again, looking back and forth between his doctor and teacher, who sat as shocked and irritated as he himself did. Hoping the old man would shut up and leave.

"Since the investigation made prior to this meeting shows no results of such violence taking place at your property, sir. We can not legally remove your son without a guardians permission..therefor, it is mandatory for the hospital to discharge Jeongin following the end of his tube cycle. Also, the school is in charge of welcoming back Yang Jeongin so he can continue his education and final exams eventually" the woman clarified, writing it into her notebook before smiling stiffly.

Tears continued to flood the boy's eyes. He genuinely hoped he was able to find a safe and secure place to stay, but now he had to fear eventually being alive in the near future.

"Ma'am, I'd like to object to that idea. If you do not find I safe environment for Jeongin to live and stay after his discharge, we will not let go of him" his doctor attempted to solve the issue, but the woman rejected immediately.

"No, do, sir. We can not legally force Jeongin out of his parents' custody without a warrant, which is not possible unless the parents aren't physically able to take care of their child".

It was like his world had stopped. Seeing the look on his father face made him want to throw up all his intestines on the floor. He wished he was never born into such a family, and he wished the woman beside him wasn't even alive.

"I-i want a lawyer" he muttered out, feeling his heart pump like crazy when the room went quiet.

"I'm sorry..it is your own choice if you want to continue this in court, but there are certain obstacles that require that. You would need a defended which cost a lot of money to hire, and not only that..ot will not be possible unless there is actual proof of certain abuse and neglectment happening within the Yang's property" his teacher spoke, and he could hear how upset she was based on the tone of her voice.

He could see the guilt in her eyes when she spoke those words, knowing deep down that if it was an opportunity..she would be with him.

"I'm afraid she's right, Jeongin. we can discuss this further later-".

"N-no..I don't want to talk anymore..you failed me" he looked at his case worker, whose confident smile finally faltered, replaced by a serious frown.

Before anyone could speak further, he dashed out of the room. With tears of pain flowing down his cheeks, he needed to find one person whom he could trust with his whole heart and body.

As he strolled down the corridor, he passed by multiple doors. He could feel his heart pounding along with he rapid steps he took.

He needed to find Hyunjin.

As if he knew where the older hid himself, his feet stopped in front of the old chemo room. His body stood still for a moment before opening the door, spotting a familiar figure inside the room, staring out the window.

"Hyunjin" he sobbed out, stepping into the room and shutting the door behind him. As he ran into the concerned latter's arms.

"Jeon-..what happened?" He asked, trying to get a look at the younger's face, but he refused to obey to the gesture.

"I-".

He couldn't even speak. His body was shutting down.

Just when things were getting better. It started tumbling down again.

He felt like he was going to die.

Like he couldn't breathe.

"It's okay, you don't need to speak right now..I will be here whenever you need to finally spit it out" Hyunjin's voice was definitely laced with drugs. Cause how in the world was he able to calm his raising adrenalin and rage in seconds within a simple statement?

"They are going to discharge me when my cycle is over".

The silence that roamed the room was heartbreaking enough to listen to.

But hearing the sound of Hyunjin's heart shattering into pieces made his entire world collapse.

"To who?" He spoke, sounding cold and harsh, as if he could kill whoever made that decision.

"H-home" he shook at the thought of calling it a home, but he couldn't deny it any longer.

He was going to be doomed.

"What about me?" He asked unsurely, and only then Jeongin realized how this impacted the older.

Losing the two of his only friends after years spent alone in the hospital must've been frightening. And yes, what about him? How were they going to continue talking? He knew he wouldn't have access to his phone at home. His parents would always take it when he disobeyed even the slightest bit.

How was he going to stay in touch?

"Please don't say that" he mumbled, shocked and upset.

"I'm sorry".

Sometimes, he wondered. What if he wasn't sick? What if his parents weren't the ones he had? What if he didn't need to suffer so much? He hasn't done anything wrong..

Then why was he targeted and abused like the wrong cow in the slaughter house?
