_______________________He was nothing but excited for when the car that Chan supposedly was in approached him from afar. He was indeed beyond ready to ditch this hell of a place and get some good rest at home. But he felt incomplete with his own mission. Even if Chan told him to learn well and study like he used too..he did absolutely nothing but talk with Hajun in the restroom. Let alone smoke so many cigarettes with him. He had done nothing but cry and practically laze out the whole day. And he knew deep down that Chan wouldn't be satisfied with any of that.
And the anxiety that bloomed from within scared the shit out of him, his eyes keeping a tight grip on the car approaching. Seeing the car from a far felt kind of nostalgic, he used to sleep in that thing because of his own pathetic fears. And yet, right now, he seemed to resent it so much more than replacing it with a good memory. Perhaps it just wasn't a good day for him. And the mere thought of probably having to talk with Chan about how school went stressed him out.
And yet, he seemed so captivated by his own thoughts that he didn't even notice that the car just pulled up beside him. He sighed, feeling the dread of having to face the older after such a long and exhausting day.
He hasn't even eaten yet.
But that didn't matter too much for him.
But it always did for Chan.
He pulled open the door before shutting it close behind him. Once he took his seat, he placed the ill-fitting backpack on his lap, pouting his lips to reduce his anxiety levels.
"Nice to see you too" the voice blurted out.
"Yeah- what?" He turned to look at who he had anticipated to be Chan sitting beside him, yet the person voicing the previous words than his sounded so different yet so familiar.
He felt his heart sink as he looked into the beautiful dark orbs that he had missed dearly but was too afraid to approach.
His cheeks flushed pink and eyes staring white at the male before his own pair of eyes. The god of beauty, barely a meter away from him, made his own sanity decrease.
"I missed you too, baby" the latter chuckled, his eyes turning into small yet pretty crescent moons, seemingly lighting up the world around him.
"I-i thought that Chan-".
"Yeah, well, an inconvenience, also known as me, occurred, and I really wanted to see you..even if you have the intention of avoiding me like the plague" He smiled, kindly as he started driving away from the school.
"You two always plan things behind my back? First the phone number, when you knew I missed Chan..and now this when Chan knew I missed you..hyunjin, why is that?" He looked at the taller. He didn't feel offended by it but rather confused. He wanted to be notified, but it felt like these schemes were just too planned out for him to identify who was supposed to be who at this point.
"I know, but I just really wanted to see you again..we haven't seen each other outside the hospital, and it genuinely was just an urge to me..and you can't say you haven't missed me either" he smirked, tapping the steering wheel waiting for the traffic light to indicate their turn to drive again.
"I did miss you..a lot. But I just wish the two of you would be a bit more informative about what you plan..not to be rude or anything, but it is bothering me a lot" Jeongin admitted.
None of it was a lie. As much as he loved the two men so dearly, he still had complications with them that he had been too afraid to confront them with till now. As romantic as everything was, it still felt haunting, not knowing who he needed to expect standing there when he opened the door.
"Hard day?".
The simple question alone made his nerves calm down. Even if typically he would be wild and ferally sweating by such questions, in this scenario, it was different. It was all from a caring heart who analyzed the fact that he was indeed not okay, and that alone made him forget about his previous frustrations pretty quickly.
"Promise me you won't tell Chan?" The younger mumbled anxiously. He knew Chan wanted the best for him, but he also wanted the younger to try his absolute hardest..which he was, in fact, not physically capable of, during such hard times.
"What is being said between you and me stays between you and me".
"I skipped all but two classes to hide in the bathroom".
"Yeah, if Chan finds out he won't be happy" Hyunjin mumbled, disoriented. Tapping the steering wheel with a questionable look on his face. "Do you wish to graduate this year? You can always take next year with the help of the community?".
"That would just make me look even more unstable. Plus, no one knows I'm not living with my parents right now-".
"Wait, I thought you just stayed with Chan because he lives closer to the school?" Hyunjin exclaimed with a confused look splattered on his face.
Jeongin felt absolutely deemed. He didn't know Chan made up an excuse for him staying at his house, even after Chan told him that he had informed Hyunjin about everything..did Chan really lie to protect him?
"I....yeah, it was a mutual agreement between me and my parents to not stay with them anymore".
"You make it sound like there isn't something bigger behind that explanation" Hyunjin commented, taking a deep breath as he glanced at the younger for a second. "Is it my turn to wonder why no one is being honest with me?".
He felt sorry for the older for being so misinformed about everything. Even if he wanted to apologize, it didn't feel like the right setting to do so, especially since their talk seemed to be going up and down on the spectrum between good and bad.
"Can I tell you later? I really just want to spend this car ride with you on good terms".
