Ingested.
_______________________Jeongin jerked up as he heard sounds coming near him. He checked his phone, checking the time on it. 5:41 am. Sighing, he looked to his left, getting up from the bench as he grabbed his backpack. He saw, probably some teenagers, walking in his direction. They carried a huge soundbox with them, while some were yelling and screaming out the lyrics to some song he hadn't heard of.
They seemed intoxicated, so he chose to stop staring and check his phone for a minute. There wasn't much he could do on it now that he didn't have his sim card anymore. But it kept him entertained enough for the people to walk past him.
He got just enough hours of sleep on this bench but quickly realized it was better to move on.
He had no plans of what he was supposed to do now. He was far enough away from home. But what now? He had no idea of what he could do to move further in life. Maybe he should look for a job, but his credit card was still under his parents' influence since he wasn't a legal adult yet. He didn't have a home and couldn't afford one either. There was no point in having a job if he didn't have somewhere to stay.
He was genuinely stuck in a critical condition.
Not only that, but he was still tired from just waking up, and he was dizzy from consuming little to no food.
Sighing heavily, he kept wandering around. Watching the early morning traffic drive by, as he depressingly stared into nothing. He had to come up with a plan, but he needed his phone to do so. He had no service or wifi, so his initial first thought was to find a place with free wifi. Not only that, but thoughts about his parents bothered him to his core. He wondered if they regretted letting him go or if they couldn't care less about it. Would he be reported missing from school, or possibly something else?
Hands in his pockets, he fiddled with a small paper in between his fingers. wondering what it might be. He slipped out his fingers from his pocket with the paper between his digits. A feeling of emotions hit him as he remembered the small strand of paper.
Hyunjin.
Smiling gently, he opened it up. There was a small note with a phone number and a small quote. Which wasn't a surprising fact, knowing it came from none other than Hyunjin.
"Oh Hyunjin" he smiled, looking at the paper with quite too many folding marks. He memorized the digits, hoping he'd be able to get in contact with him..hopefully through a phone booth.
He remembered this letter. It was the same one with the address on it. Both his number and address, it couldn't be that impossible to find, right? Well it was..he had no cellphone service at all, no wifi connected to his phone. Maybe he should stick to the phone booth, or try to borrow someone's phone.
Personally, he wanted nothing more than have either Chan or Hyunjin on the phone, speaking into his ear and reassuring him that he would be alright. Even if it sounded so stupid, like all he past things he has said and done the past few 24 hours. He couldn't really help it. He didn't want to lose the first people that made him happy.
So he hurried across the street, walking so fast he felt out of breath. But he had a mission to accomplish. He finally had it in him to go and do something. So when he spotted a little cafè, seemingly already opened, he smiled. He thought of how lucky he was to find this place at such an early time in the morning. So he quickly hurried inside, letting warmth embrace him as he saw some customers stand in line. He figured he might as well order something, and he hoped they had available wifi. Cause if not, he was just wasting his time here.
As it became his turn, he held his sleeves tightly, watching as the elderly woman behind the register smiled softly.
"Hello, what can I offer such a fine gentleman at such an early hour" she spoke, her voice was raspy but somehow sweet. Her eyes disappeared when she smiled.
"Just a latte" he replied, receiving a gentle nod from the elderly woman. Who accepted the cash when he handed them over. "Uhm I have a question" he spoke, leaning a bit over the counter to get her attention.
"Yes dear, what is it?" She smiled again.
She must be such a warm-hearted woman for her to smile like that. It made the boy happy withing.
"Do you have available wifi?".
"Yes, yes. It's not secured, but it's very strong" she laughed as she turned around again after Jeongin thanked her briefly.
He immediately went to sit down and pulled out his phone, noticing the plug by the wall, which made him even happier to have chosen this place. He kulled out his charger and connected it to the plug, proceeding to connect the other end to his phone.
His phone wasn't necessarily dying, but it was running low on battery. It was better safe than sorry.
He connected his phone to the wifi and immediately searched up the address on his device. The maps located it to he about 27 minutes away from here, which was thankfully accessible via the local city bus.
Smiling at his achievement, he quickly screenshotted the information about the bus and the area of the address. Quickly shutting off his device. Now, all he needed was to call Hyunjin's number and hoping he'd be available. He figured he could spend about an hour since it was now 6 am.
He felt somewhat content in this very moment. He was somewhere warm and cozy, with a hot drink on its way, and he found the letter from Hyunjin.
He couldn't feel more relieved now that everything was getting somewhat under control. And all he could do was wait for the opportunity to call him.
