As Kie remains on her phone and you wait inside the cubicle, Kelce stays leaning against the brick wall of the girls bathroom.
"You know I'm just here to apologise." He says to Kie, receiving nothing in return from her.

Bang,bang,bang!
Kelce feels like he is being made out to be a big joke by Kie as she remains ignoring him so he results to knocking on the bathroom door, his frustration however, turning them into three loud bangs instead. Kie jumps at his obnoxious actions, a sense of threat washing over her entire being.
"Y/N. Look..." he laughs menacingly, "I just wanna apologise."

Your knees begin to shake as fear shudders through your entire body. You had never had a man show such threat towards you. Your father, who has always had anger issues, hadn't even made you feel this threatened. Your hand flys to your mouth to steady your shaky breathing as you hear Kelce continue to talk through the door.

"Come on Y/N, can't avoid me fore-"
You hear as his plead is cut short before a loud thump.

Rafe had grabbed Kelce from the back of his collar, pulling it hard in a backwards motion, causing Kelce to practically choke on his words.
Rafe couldn't contain his rage. He couldn't speak. He was being sucked into a black hole of anger, barely aware of his surroundings or his actions.
As Kelce wobbled backwards from Rafe, he held his neck, it pained to speak but he had the audacity to speak anyways.
"Thought you left?"
Rafe had started breathing heavily, almost as menacingly as Kelce had been a few moments earlier.
"Hey, don't freak out on me. Y/N is just in there." Kie says as she points towards the door.
Rafe becomes visibly calmer at that. Happy that you were safe.

"So it is about Y/N, huh?" Kelce interrupts, "so you embarrass me at my own joint and then you proceed to take her awa-" the words were suddenly knocked out of him as Rafe lands a swift punch to his jaw.
"Don't talk as if she belonged to you, she doesn't even know you." Rafe finally speaks up.

The soothing sound of Rafes voice causes you to feel safe enough to finally open the door a crack, looking through the 3cm gap before making yourself known again.
You run to his side before grabbing a hold of his hand, "Rafe," you begin, earning a downward glance from his tall stature, "leave it for now, everybody is watching." You look around the four of you to notice some groups of people at the food stands watching and waiting for something to go down while others hadn't noticed at all just yet.
Rafe struggles to convince himself to let Kelce slip away this time. He steps towards him, pushing his chest once before being held back by you once again.
He looks down at you again for strength before back to Kelce, his cheeks puffing with rage as he tries to calm his breathing.
"I'll kill you next time." He threatens as Kelce holds his neck, visibly turning purple and blue with bruising.

Rafe returns his hold in your hand before walking back to your spot on the grass, everybody that was watching the screen were oblivious to what had just happened back at the bathrooms.

"Water?" You ask him gently.
Too embarrassed at his actions, he stays silent but nods in agreement before you pull his hand towards the food stands once again. His eyes begin to dart around the stands and the surrounding area as you near the place of the incident and coming to a halt  outside one of them.

"Hey," you begin as you stand in front of him, your hands cupping his worried face, "you're okay."
Rafes breathing comes to a slow and his eyes focus down into yours.
Rafe sighs before leaning into you, his arms against a railing behind you as he rests his head on your shoulder.
You let him take a breather for as long as he needed as your arms come up around his shoulders, holding his head against your neck. His breath against your skin makes your chest flutter and your heart beat pick up speed causing you to instinctively pull him in closer until his body finally presses against yours. He wraps his arms around your lower back, holding you closer towards him.

After a few moments in your embrace, Rafe finally lifts his head from your neck, making eye contact with you at last before swiftly deciding to be bold by suddenly pressing his lips against yours. Gradually allowing yourself to melt into it.

Rafe slowly pulls away, looking deeply into your eyes for permission before gently colliding his lips with yours again, his tongue asking for entrance as it can be felt against yours ever so slightly.
"Rafe..." you say between the kiss as your hands press against his chest lightly.
"What's wrong?" He whispers against your lips.
"We gotta get back."
Rafe finally pulls away from you, still staring deeply into your glistening, moon lit eyes. His heart yearning to be with you at all times from this moment on.

"Come on." You smile, tugging at his shirt.
"What about the others?" He asks, still standing in place.
"What about them?" You ask confused.
Rafe struggles to find the words before finally saying, "Well, more about us..."
"I like you Rafe. But I have to talk to Sarah first, preferably alone."  You say gently.
"Who cares about what she thinks?"
"She's my best friend."
"And Topper was mine, that never stopped her."
You huff a small smile before walking towards him again, softly placing a kiss on his cheek, "You do make a good point."
Rafe smiles down at you before pulling you into another hug, his head resting on yours as his arms lazily drape around your waist.
"But give me time, alright?" You say apologetically.

"Don't make me wait forever." He smiles.
