You walk up to the others, the sound of the sand shifting beneath your footsteps causes them to turn around to see you and Rafe, hand in hand.
"Where's ours?" Kie jokes as she gestures to the juices.
"Sorry...it was kind of a spur of the moment thing."
"Don't fret, I was just joking around." She laughs as she throws an arm lazily over your shoulder, stealing you away from Rafes side, "Have you figured out what you're gonna wear tonight?"
"Tonight?..." You question under your breath, confused as to what it was she was talking about until you finally remembered, "Oh! We're going to the mainland tonight?"
"Yup! Like we discussed, silly."
"I haven't really put much thought into it..." You respond as you look up towards Rafe standing alone with his eyes consistently on you.

Rafe stood tall as he sipped his juice, his other hand resting deep inside the pocket of his shorts, just as curious to hear what you had planned on wearing as well. He knows you would look good in anything but he also knows how barbaric the mainland folk are, especially around a pretty lady.
With all the clubs and bustle over there, it was basically dirtbag central.

"Sarah was thinking of wearing a maxi dress but Im thinking more along the lines of something skimpy."
Kie says with a finger on her chin in thought.
Rafe instantly presses his lips together in disapproval as he lowers his head downwards, huffing a sarcastic smile as if to say: not on my watch, which entertained Kie all too much, giving her a sneaky idea.
"We can get ready at my house, right Rafe?" She asks with a sly smile, earning herself a questionable look from him in exchange. "I promise I won't steal her away for too long." She teases, locking arms with you as she begins to walk back to the twinkie.
"Wait- Isnt the mainland kinda not the safest place?" You ask as you drag your feet in the sand to slow down Kies hurried pace.
"She's right."
You and Kie turn your heads to Rafe, his head angled low as he shakes it with objection.
"You're getting cold feet now?" Kie asks.
"That's not it."
"Then what?"
"I just-" Before Rafe can even begin to explain the reasoning behind his worries, Jj sees his opportunity to prove himself worthier than Rafe.
"-Come on, dude, let the girls have fun for a change."

Rafe quickly turns his head back to look at Jj as Jj only smirks devilishly back at him. Knowing exactly what Jj was up to, Rafe didn't find it at all amusing.
It was clear as day to him that Jj didn't really care about the girls well-being.
Yours to be precise.
He only cared about himself and the competition he saw Rafe as. To such a selfish extent, your safety being the price of it all.
Rafe could feel the heat creeping up his arms and into his chest, a raging infuriation growing hotter with every day he spent getting to know the real Jj.

John B ended up taking everybody back to the Cameron's household, mainly to return all the blankets and pillows they borrowed for the night but also because the boys were already just about dressed, leaving Sarah to get ready upstairs while the boys chilled out by the van. All except Rafe who also returned to his bedroom to better dress himself up, All while you and Kie waltzed to her house just a few streets away after she insisted you get ready together.

You sit on her bedroom floor as Kie digs through her wide closet, pulling out an array of choices for you to choose from and only one for herself, a burnt orange  dress, one side tied at the thigh.
"Wow..." You stare in awe, adoring her dress and how it matches her hue so gorgeously.
"You likey?"
"A lot."
"For you, I was thinking..."
She lays out three dresses.
One was a short but flowing, blue dress with sheer, puffy, long sleeves that were speckled with the finest of glitter just barely noticeable to the naked eye but under a certain light, it sparkled beautifully.
The second one was a short, royal red dress and tight against the skin with its corseted back. It was plain and simple but definitely flattering with its expensive and enticing velvety fabric.
The third one was plain and white, but never the less any prettier than the others as it was almost a mix between the two. Though it was shoulder-less and bared your collarbones, it had full length, puffy sleeves. Very princess style yet it sat short and tight.
"OR you could just wear, you know, your usual jeans and top if you'd like. Whatever you feel comfortable in is what really matters." Kie says with her hands positioned on her hips, proud of the choices she's arranged for you. She sighs as she brings one hand up to wipe the sweat off her brow out of exhaustion before asking,
"So, what'll it be?"

You look at the dresses, all so beautiful in their own unique way as if they had personality's of their own. Of course, your everyday jeans were an option too, making the choice so much harder than it already was.
"Hmmm..." You hum in thought, tapping your lips curiously with your index finger as you wonder.
"I think I'll choose ________."
"Exactly what I was thinking." Kie says, "Now, I'm gonna get started on my hair so I'll leave you to it!"

After an hour or two of getting yourself ready,
you stare in the mirror.
Yes you've worn all types of dresses and all types of jeans and outlandish outfits all alike but tonight you feel exceptionally pretty.
Your hands feel down the fabric of your body as you can't help but adore yourself in the moment, your hair was beautiful too. It was in a fairly low, loose bun as longer strands of hair drape free around the sides of your face.
"Well, look at you!" Kie exclaims from her ensuite door.
"Do I look okay?"
"Do you look okay? You look amazing, Y/N. So are you ready to go? John B texted me and said we should leave a little earlier. Something about the boat being difficult to get on."
"Uhhh, yup! I'm ready." You smile excitedly.
"Perfect! Let's go wait outside."
