"Are you fucking with us?" Rafe asks Jj, slightly annoyed.
Jj turns around to look at you, "The fuck is his problem?" He asks, insolently.
"Jj..." You groan, standing up from your spot on the grass as you take your time to brush the debris off of your clothes.
Rafe calmly makes his way back to you as he looks over his shoulder at all the dark woods and the large trees that only cast even darker shadows. The scene was eery and he still wasn't quite convinced that they were alone.
"Lets go inside..." Rafe says, as he places a protective arm around your waist, moving you towards the back door again as he holds you close to himself. Both you and Jj could tell that there was something off about his aura, so you comply with no questions asked.
"Yeah, okay."

When you walk inside, you notice that the movie was still playing and the others were still sleeping but Sarah and John B were now sprawled out across the entire length of the couch together so you have no choice but to sit at the pine wood table by the kitchen. Jj joins you as Rafe stands by the living room window, peering out of it as if he was deep in thought.
"Did something happen?" Jj asks as he pulls a chair back with a screech, taking a seat on the tables top and using the chair as a foot rest.
You watch Rafe as he watches outside, lost in thought. "I'm not really sure."
"You mentioned the rooster?"
"Well, you know how the rooster only coo's when there's visitors, right?"
"Yeah?"
"Well, it was cooing..."
"It was probably just a fox or something. There's a lot of critters out here, always trying to snatch the chickens up for dinner and shit like that." Jj says as Rafe walks to behind you, placing two reassuring hands on your shoulders.
"Maybe he's right for once." Rafe says to your surprise as he willingly agrees with Jj. He can see it in your posture and feel it in your shoulders that you were tense about the situation, so he chooses not to provoke suspicion any further. You lean your head back to rest it on Rafes stomach as you look up to meet his eyes, smiling up at him as he brushes the hair out of your face. "A fox?"
"Way out here? I'm sure of it." Rafe assures, not wanting to worry you any more than you already were and apparently, Jj was onto it as well.

Jj takes a stand as he rummages through John B's cupboards looking for real food that was a packet of potato chips or sugar coated candy.
"This Kelce freak," He begins as he pulls out a slice of bread from a stale loaf, "you know, he's really got you all worked up and for what? I say we do something about it."
"Oh, yeah? What do you suggest, tough guy?" Rafe taunts, "I almost killed the dude, Jj, he won't be coming back anytime soon."
"Heh, I'll be damned if I listen to you." Jj says as he takes a bite of the bread in his hand that he managed to scavenge from somewhere deep inside the cupboard.
"Ugh, Jj." You groan in disgust.
"What?"
"That's so old. Look-" you point, "there's mould."
He picks the mouldy corner off of the bread, carelessly throwing it over his shoulder, "Easy fix."
"Disgusting."
"Bleugh." He spits, "Yeah, you're right."
"You better clean that, Jj!" John B shouts from the couch, throwing an empty can of beer in Jj's direction.
"How long have you been awake?"
"Mmmmm...0.25 seconds? Maybe?" He responds with a hint of sarcasm.
"Hey! John B!" You shout as you run ecstatically towards the couch, leaning against the back of it and resting your head on your arms.
"What's up, Y/N?"
"Are there really foxes out here?" You ask.
"Uhh...sure, I mean, only in the winter though."
"Ha! See! I knew it!" You exclaim at the two boys seated at the table, "A fox my ass."
"Y/N, if it was say...a human, wouldn't they have made them self known by now? Plus, Rafey boy here scoped out the area. There's nobody." Jj says, quick to shut your concerns down which pushed you slightly over the edge at how little your worries meant to him and frankly, anybody, it seemed.
"I'm not crazy, Jj. I really think-" You try again, only to be stopped short by the blonde boys impudence.
"Seriously, Y/N. Enough! At least try to have a good time."

Rafe stays silent and dormant as you lean back first against the couch now. He despised hearing the way Jj lost it at you and it broke him internally to see you so defeated but if it was a human, like he initially thought, then it'd only cause worry for not only you but everybody else. He thought maybe it was selfish of him to be acting so nonchalant about intruders and especially when he was who potentially lead them to John B's private property and the pogues safe haven but he held his new ties with the others fondly, knowing he would do anything to protect them and most importantly, you.
What they don't know won't hurt them, he thinks to himself.

"Since when are you so guarded."
Rafe comes out of his train of thought, looking towards the source of the quiet voice to see you looking at him with sad-like eyes.
"What? You guys are teaming up now? Is that it?"You add, disappointed in Rafes lack of support.
"It's not like that." Rafe says, walking over to you and placing his hands on either side of your arms, rubbing them up and down with the means to comfort you. "There's just...no point in worrying you when I already checked everything out. Right? Worrying you is the last thing I'd want to do, you know that." He interlaces his hands with yours.
"If you're so sure it's just some little, harmless fox then I guess you wouldn't mind me jumping in the hot tub."
"Y/N-"
"Alone."
