Karl didn't know if asking Alex to do that had made him uncomfortable, but he did get quiet after asking. That was until Alex responded. "Yeah, I am gonna hug you though ok?" I nodded my head and heard him moving around for a few seconds, "Stand up please." I did as he asked and made eye contact for the first time since we had both gotten here. His eyes looked warm, he looked happy and gentle and that made me feel a little bit calmer. He held his arms out and I hesitantly stepped into them, my arms were bundled up between out chests while his were around my waist and holding my back.

I didn't feel any different for a moment until I heard him take a deep breath, the vanilla in his scent seemed to strengthen and I could smell him much easier now. As he hugged me tighter and I felt the smell surround me I quite literally felt the heat smothering my body calm down, I could feel the coldness run through my skin and I smiled. That helped me a lot.

We hugged for about a minute before I decided it had been long enough. I lightly stepped back and he let me go, I guess seeing my now relaxed smile made him happy because his smile seemed to become even more genuine somehow. Then it quickly left his face. "Shit, I forgot, ok I'm really sorry but since my scent was the first thing that helped to calm you in the beginning of this heat we both accidentally just did two things." I could tell he was genuinly worried so I tired my best to focus on his words as the heat slowly began to return and gather in my body.

"Ok, so basically since you were around someone of a higher rank there is a chance that your heat will start sooner, I'm really sorry about that. Though also since my scent calmed you down you're gonna crave it while your in pain. The thing about a beta's scent is that it doesn't linger as long as an alpha's would or even another beta. So you're gonna be more emotional if you don't have my scent on you every so often."

I stood there and slightly panicked for a moment, "Ok, that's alright, I mean, you aren't gonna do anything right." His eyes seemed to widen in panic for a second, "No, no Karl I would never do something to hurt you, and I won't do anything especially when you're in a vulnerable state like your heat. Ok, but since your heat is gonna hit sooner than predicted because of that small action I need you to make a decision, ok?" I nodded and he cleared his throat before continuing.

"Do you give me full permission to come in here and comfort you if it is necessary or would you rather me stay out and away, I can fully promise that I will do nothing to hurt you, and nothing that you say is not ok. Know that you can fully trust me and I'd never do anything to you."
