chapter title: prologue
"NO, FOR ONCE THIS ISN'T UP TO YOU, LET THE PEOPLE DO THEIR JOBS YOU PRICK!" I inhaled deeply and then realized what I had just done, I was definitely losing my job after this. No doubt about it, but to be honest, he had it coming. Just then I heard a tapping on the meeting room door and a secretary walked in, behind her was a man dressed in an all-black suit.
"George Davidson, I need you to come with me." Everyone was looking around the room but at this point, I knew I had just lost my job and had nothing else to lose, if I was leaving then they might as well know who I am, or was. I was hit with a few memories of the last time my full name was called. My throat seemed to dry up on the spot, I felt the familiar urge to sniffle or cough, but I didn't because that might reveal who I am to these people around me. If I play my cards right then I might not lose my job. Never mind, that's lame.
I looked up at the man dressed in all black and saw him slightly hold up a pair of silver handcuffs from his pocket. "God Dammit really?" He just nodded and I groaned. Then I realized, there was nothing saying I had to go with him, I mean honestly the other people in this board meeting would have no idea what is happening, and that might be a good thing for the time being. I looked behind me at the other door, and how I could run a clear path to it, that's something I never forgot how to do correctly, run. I may have forgotten human functionality for a while, but I still knew how to run, it was in my blood.
Then the man in black must have seen what I was looking at, "FUCKING DON'T GEORGE!" I just looked at him and decided to give in, or not. I turned and booked it the other way, the door didn't open at first try, but there was another man dressed in all black on the other side of the door, I panicked, and then I punched him in the gut. He collapsed on the floor and then I was gone again, running. Yes I was being chased but hey, that's all more of the fun right?
