131. They're married

Nandini's POV

"I do." The happiness in my voice echoed in the room as I answered the priest's question.

He then turned to Manik and asked the same question to him, "Alpha Manik Malhotra, do you take Nandini Thornton to be your wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do you part?"

"I do... With all my heart." Warmth spiraled within me when he announced that in a loud and clear voice that echoed off the walls.

Then we exchanged the rings.

When Manik slipped the ring onto my finger, my mouth parted in amazement. It twinkled on my finger like a star in the sky. Manik lifted my hand and kissed it. The glint in his eyes and the hoots increasing behind us indicated that we were pronounced as husband and wife, and it was time that Manik should kiss his bride.

He held my waist possessively, and as I was looking at him, he pulled me closer and put his lips on mine. My world faded away. All that I knew about life and death turned to blurriness as I held on to Manik's shoulders and attempted to keep up with his kiss. I leaned back, feeling his torso move into mine.

When we returned home from home two nights ago from hospital, Manik proposed to me in front of everyone in the living room. He didn't hide anything that he had felt in the last five years and repeated the vows he had earlier taken to love and protect me.

I don't remember much because everything had turned black. His face was all I could focus on at that time. And the fact that he just got up after a fatal attack.... And yet, the first thing he had on his mind was to possess me as his forever.

He didn't think about his parents or the daughter he had been caring for or the son he couldn't be with since his birth. He only cared about locking me in, bounding me with himself in a relationship that would never allow me to leave this place or pack until my death.

Manik marked me right then and there. I was so red witnessing his boldness. He didn't even think about our kids. They were looking at us with open mouths. But happily.

Although they wanted to join us, Luna Arti and Alpha Manav held them in their arms as if they knew the kids would hamper our moment. The attack had scared them fiercely. They wanted to meet their dad.

Come to think of the attack, it was caused by some bikers known as the Mongols. They were after Manik and the others in Unholy Allies. But thanks to Alpha Manav that he went after the white Van right away. He managed to get a hold of them and got the shooter speaking. When he realized they had nothing more to offer, he gutted them out and set the Van on fire.

The information infuriated the other Mafia Bosses of their alliance. They slaughtered every Mongol biker while I was inside the Operation Theatre.

They were also there that night when Manik proposed to me. Now too... As they hooted the loudest and passed teasing comments.

"You have the entire night for this, Malhotra! There are kids watching you. Stop it." Someone of them shouted and the small crowd that consisted only of our family shattered into peels of laughter.

Manik growled after parting away from me. But he held me close as his dark eyes brimmed with rage.

"Jealous fucker, find your mate and stop envying others." He scoffed and kissed me again.

"I like to see my dad kissing my mom. You guys don't interrupt them." We both laughed between the kiss, listening to Mahir's growl.

"He's just like you." I mumbled across from my husband's lips as he pulled away.
