chapter ninety-three

"I'm surprised you're still giving him the gift" Donna said, pouring herself a handful of Reese's pieces, setting the box back down between us as I took a few.

"He still my friend"

"But-"

"Yes, I know but I still see him as my friend, but I also want to know why he's acting strange and the only way to know is to still stay close beside it can't be nothing bad" I said as Donna shrugs taking a couple more. We were sitting in the bathroom waiting before our next period for science.

"(y/n)"

"Yes Donna?"

"Do you still like Michael?" she suddenly asked as I looked up at her before looking down at the ground kicking the floor a bit.

"I'm not really sure there some feelings for him but if I'm being honesty, I like someone else well more like a few"

"Who might those be???" she quickly asked, almost spilling the pieces of candy out of her hand as I tilted my head raising my eyebrow as she stood there staring at me with a slight smile curling at her lip knowing who I was talking about but wanted me to say it.

"The boys. My feelings have gotten stronger for them, but I still don't know if I should tell them"

"Whyyy" Donna whined a bit, crossing her arms.

"Because if I ask them and they don't like me I would risk hurting my friendship and then everything falls apart"

"But if you don't ask your just hurting yourself"

"Okay you made your point but I'm still going to wait I need to find out about Michael and about my secret admire" 

"Fine but don't wait too long" she said, taking the rest of the candy as the bell rang. Donna got up to her feet, almost slipping on the floor as she grabbed her bag taking off. I grab my bag giving chase after her as we both ran off to science pushing past the crowd of people and to our seats as Finn came running in noticing we were already there.

"How did you two get here so early"

"We may have skip last period"

"That's not fair" he said, taking a seat next to me as I stuck my tongue out leaning my head against his as he grabbed my hand holding it tight while Donna was watching the scene whisper out an aww as I slightly glared at her. the teacher suddenly came bursting in with a box full of stuff as he took out a couple items setting them down on each table explaining we were doing a lab as the whole classroom erupted with excitement which also meant no homework as the teacher handed out a slip of paper for instructions along with a pair of googles as me, Finn and Donna put them on reading over the instructions as I placed everything in order before we all could start mixing things to find a reaction as me and Donna took a step back while Finn put the final piece as he stepped back over to my side but nothing happened as we all looked at each other confused before suddenly a snap as it started to bubble and flow to the top spilling on the table as the teacher came over clapping his hand on being the first to complete it before cleaning up the mess for the rest of class Finn took out some homework to get an early start as I decided to take a nap resting my head against Finn chest listening to the rhythm of his heartbeat as I found myself falling asleep. 

sadly, I was woken up by a rude awake from the bell just to remind me I was back in my real-life nightmare as I lifted my head off of Finn chest rubbing my eyes a little before grabbing my bag walking off to my next class as I tried to survive the rest of the day through my class before Gym came around as I found myself sitting alone in the corner of the gym with my sketchbook sketching the Christmas tree me and my family put up until I heard footsteps approaching me as I looked up noticing it was Michael. 

"What are you doing by yourself?" he asked taking a seat on the floor in front of me.

"Griffin wasn't feeling well so he went to the nurse office, and you were still in the boy's locker room, and I didn't feel like talking to anybody else" I said with a slight chuckle as Michael gasp a bit before chuckling with me. 

"You seem to be cheerful"

"Very cheerful"

"Well, I heard from our teacher were getting a free day so if you want you can take a nap"

"I already took two naps and I need to stay up after school because I got some homework and I need to study for a test coming up but for now I rather sketch"

"Could I join you?"

"Yeah, why wouldn't you?" I asked as he just shrugged at me digging around his pocket as a deck of cards fell out. my body stiffens as I stare down at the cards while Michael quickly picked them all back up.

"Sorry sorry sorry" he kept saying till the cards were out of my sight as I took a shaky breath bringing myself back to reality "I forgot about those"

"Why do you have cards in your pocket?"

"Oh, umm well It's a long story but one day I was cleaning my room and found this book of magic tricks, so I started practicing over Christmas break when I was board and forgot about them" he said as I nodded my head looking down at my sketchbook before getting up to my feet holding my hand out to him as he looked up at me grabbing my hand. "what's going on?"

"Ditching class" I simply said walking to the doors turning my head to look back at the teacher who was busy with his own things as we quickly slip out of class walking around the school to my locker as I took out the gift handing it over to him. "Hope you like it"

"Wow (y/n) this looks amazing, thank you but I don't have a gift for you"

"I'm good without one but there could be something"

"Like?"

"We haven't hanged out in a while, so I wanted to know if you like to hang out with me over the weekend"

"I would like too but my mother making me visit my uncle because he wants to know his brother son and hopes that there might be a family connection or whatever bullshit"

"Oh, that's okay I think you should he seems nice"

"Yeah, but my mother says he a little strange because he always high off drugs"

"Excuse me?"

"You know drugs-"

"No no I know what those are, but did you say always high off drugs?"

"Yeah why?"

"Um no reason" I lied opening my sketch book jotting down a quick note before snapping it shut as he shrugs it off laying an arm around me as we walked around the hallways hiding when we thought a teacher was coming by as we talk and joke with each other just before the final bell rang as everyone spilled out into the hallways as I said my goodbye to Michael walking off to my locker picking up a few things before walking out the doors heading straight back home running to my room throwing my bag to the floor as I paced around my room. I couldn't stop myself from thinking about what Michael said about meeting his uncle it didn't mean nothing at first till he mentions his uncle taking drugs most of the time as I remember back down in the basement when the Grabber mention he had a brother then when I was escaping there was drugs left on the table even when I meet the Grabber brother, his eyes were a dead giveaway he was on something and the last time I saw him he was on something. no! I had to be wrong I have to be wrong, but it was all too close to connect. I needed to see it for myself to be proven wrong as I took a seat at my desk grabbing my bag pulling out my homework drowning my thoughts with more important needs right now.
