chapter one hundred thirty-six

The next morning, I was sitting on the couch enjoying my free day watching tv with Samson with my breakfast keeping an eye on him to make sure he wouldn't steal my food when the phone suddenly started to ring as I let out a groan walking over to the phone setting my bowl down on the counter before picking the phone up.

"Hello?" I asked slightly confused. 

"Hey best friend" Donna said on the other end of the phone.

"Hi best friend" I said with a smile leaning my back against the wall.

"you're not busy at the moment, are you?"

"Umm not really why?"

"Good, I need you to help me out with something, come to my house and be quick" she said hanging up the phone quickly as I mumbled out an okay putting the phone down letting it click. I walked off back to my room finding a pair of clothes pulling them on as Samson stood by my door whining a bit knowing he would be alone for a while. I got down on my knees pulling into a hug.

"Hey buddy if you behave, I promise I'll give you your favorite treat" I said. Samson started wagging his tail a bit barking up at me. I got back to my feet running over to the door picking up my keys, stuffing them into my back pocket as I grabbed my shoes, pulling them on looking back at Samson who was sitting peacefully in the hallway as I blew him a kiss before heading out the door locking it behind checking it before walking over to the garage jumping on my bike as I rode out to the street as a familiar bark rang in my ear. I turned my head as I noticed the familiar tufts of golden fur.

"Aww hi Rover" I said, reaching my hand out running it over his fur. Billy was far behind as he came riding up tossing newspapers left and right till, he came to a stop.

"Good morning, babe" Billy said with a smile.

"Good morning paperboy" I said with a giggle as he shook his head riding closer to me giving me a kiss on the cheek. "How's the route going?"

"Good so far beside almost being chased by a wild cat" he said as Rover gave a small whimper, tucking his tail a bit before looking back at me wagging his tail again.

"Well, that's interesting" I said slightly surprise.

"Yeah, where are you heading off too?"

"Donna, she said she needed my help with something so I'm going to head over to her house."

"Sure, hey umm me and the others wanted to know if maybe you would like to go on a date later at six."

"Of course, I would, where will the date be though?" I asked curiosity, getting the better of me as he thought about it for a minute.

"The roller rink"

"Oh yay" I said slightly excited but a bit nervous lingering along that I buried down as Billy smiled whistle to Rover grabbing his attention. 

"I'll see you later babe" he said with a wink riding off deliver more newspaper. I giggled a bit before peddling off over to Donna house. 

once I got there, I ran up to the front door giving a few quick knocks as I stood there waiting till the door swung open as Donna stood their looking like she had just gotten out of bed as she moved out the way to let me in. 

"Umm Donna you, okay?" I couldn't help but question as I turned my head around to meet her gaze as she let out a slight nervous giggle. 

"Umm about that there a reason I need your help" she said gesturing me to follow her upstairs. I followed after her as we walked into her room where everything seemed to be fine and neat till I noticed the three dresses lying on top her bed. "I have a date tonight."    

"that's great!" I quickly said not holding back my wide smile as she laughed a bit picking up the dresses off her bed holding them out to me. one was all dark blue with white polka dots and short straps with a short skirt that ended at the knee. while the other was more purple sporting the same short straps but had a longer skirt then the blue one. the last dress a yellow sunshine with sleeves and had the same length of skirt as the blue one. 

"I wasn't sure what to pick but what do you think will go best?"

"Well, where's your date taking you? also, may I know the name of the person?" I asked taking the sunshine dress out of her hands. 

"it's a dinner date and his name Michael" she said. I quickly froze up looking at her. 

"Please tell me your joking" I said.

"Yeah, I'm joking" she said as she started to laugh a bit. I couldn't help but laugh along with her. "His name William or will" 

"Why dose that name sound familiar" I ask as I thought about it before it settled in my brain. "isn't he one of Bruce teammates?"

"Yeah, we started talking before the school year ended and yesterday when the fireworks went off, he asked me out." she said a blush crawling to her face as I let out a slight gag at the romantic gesture earning a pillow throw at my head. 

"Oh, come on like you didn't kiss the boys when the fireworks didn't go off."

"I didn't but now I wish I did" I said taking the other dress she had holding up. "Okay so I'm going have to say purple ones out first, but I can't choose between the polka dot and the sunshine one because the sunshine brings out your wonderful always bubble and happy mood, but the polka dot seems more like a dinner date type dress."

she took the purple dress throwing it back in the closet as we both looked over the other two dresses looking them over. after a few minutes between debating, we both agree the yellow dress would be better as she put it on twirling around in it a bit as I gave two thumbs up. then suddenly she quickly pulled me up to my feet. 

"Can you do my makeup and my hair?" she asked jumping up a bit.

"I can try but I'm not good at it like you" I said as she grabbed her makeup set before dragging me off to the bathroom.
