chapter eleven

I was sitting next to Donna in science class laying my head on the desk taking a slight nap until she shoved my side.

"I was trying to sleep" I mumbled sitting up a bit tugging at my shirt. I already got enough sleep, but class was so boring. Suddenly the teacher coughed, grabbing everyone's attention as he stood up with a stack of paper.

"Everyone we have a project coming up, you will be in a group of three working on this so pick a partner" he said walking around the classroom handing us the sheet of papers.

"So, we're going to be partners?"

"Yeah, but we need one more" Donna said, looking around the room. I was looking around, noticing Finney standing in the back waiting for someone to join. I got up, throwing my bag over while walking to him.

"Hey Finney, do you need partners?"

"I um I-" he struggled to speak. I'll just take it as a yes. I grab a seat falling back letting Donna take a seat to him as her face turned slightly red. The teacher went on to explain that the project would be about a rocket project.

"This is going to be interesting"

"I-I know how to build a rocket"

"That's great" Donna said, smiling a bit. We agree that Finney would be the one to build while me and would work on some type of design and the supplies. I noticed Finney's eyes wandering up and down then looking at me.

"Are you the girl that bump into Robin at the drive in"

Oh god that will haunt me for the rest of my life. Donna looked at me mumbling something under her breath that sounded a bit bitter.

"Umm yes" I said, tapping my pencil against the desk. He must have told him at the grab and go yesterday or how else would he know. The bell rang as I raced out the door clutching my bag not looking where I was going, slamming right into someone. "Shit sorry"

"Don't worry about it" a kind voice spoke, picking up my things and handing them back helping me up to my feet. He stood around a few feet taller than me, his black hair slick back wearing a baseball shirt. He gave a warm smile heading off to his neck class waving at some staring girls as they swayed.

I got to gym class after the rest of hell as I ran over to Griffin dropping by his side. He smiled, handing me some sweets leaning back against the wall holding a book.

"Thanks Griffin" I said digging my hand through the bag popping a (f/f) in my mouth laying back against the floor. Today was a free day in gym and I would take my sweet time doing nothing. Griffin wasn't talking much again just keeping to himself as I let him be while I ate the sweets staring at the ceiling.

"Hey (y/n) do you have any plans for the weekend coming up?"

"I don't think so but I have this science project coming up with Donna and Finney so I might have to spend time working with them"

"Well, if you like to hang out give me a call" he said, slipping me a piece of paper. The bell rang as he smiled at me, closing his book shut walking out. I slip the paper in my pocket waiting behind for everyone to leave. I walked down the hallway looking around as my eyes landed on Finney who was running through the crowd with three people chasing after him. I knew something bad was going to come as I followed behind them near the boy's bathroom. It was wrong to go in, but I did so anyway stand behind the three boys as their heads quickly turned staring at me.

"This is the boy's bathroom" a boy with curly brown hair said, crossing his arms while the one with orange hair nodded his head.

"Then why are you three in here?" not my greatest comeback but I could see one of the boys quickly flustered looking between the other two. I pushed past them walking over to Finney motioning him to follow me.

"Thanks" he whispered once we were out of the bathroom.

"No problem but next time don't hide in the bathroom a bad spot to get picked on with no eyewitness" I said. He nodded his head walking off to one direction while I was heading the other way humming to myself some music to empty the silence around. Ding ding. I turned my head seeing Billy the paperboy waving at me throwing newspaper out again with his dog trailing behind barking at me a bit. I waved back at them still walking back to my house trying to twist the doorknob finding it was locked on the top. I went around the back to see if I could sneak in through the window and seeing it was locked. Shit I'm locked out of the house. I tried the other windows having no luck with them. I bang my head against the side of the house with a groan pain slightly ripping through my head once I did so. I had two options at this moment I could do. Go to the grab and go or stay stuck here. Grab and go it is, I thought walking around the house down the street.
