chapter ninety-four

For the rest of the week, I tried to act like everything was normal, focusing on my homework and joking with my friend but by Friday I couldn't keep it to myself as I walked around the hallways looking around for Donna and Gwen. I could have told the boys, but I didn't want to mention the past back in that basement and worry them out. I didn't want to tell Gwen much either, but I knew she could see things in her dream. Maybe she could Find something about Michael that I can't. First, I found Donna by her locker searching around for something as I made my way over.

"Donna?"

"Yes?" she asked, turning her head to me "is something wrong?"

"Can you meet me up in the library with Gwen I really need to talk to you both"

"Of course,"

"Thanks, best friend" I said with a smile turning on my feet rushing off to look for Gwen as I looked through every hallway searching from side to side, up and down anywhere! Till I found her with Finn, Robin and Burce talking to one another. I let out a groan walking up to Gwen.

"Hi boys, Hi Gwen" I said, greeting them giving a smile to the boys as they greeted me back.

"Hi (y/n)" Gwen said with a slight smile.

"How are you doing?"

"I'm fine you?"

"I'm good but umm I need your help with something"

"I could help" Bruce said with a smile. No no no I thought before getting an idea as I looked over at him.

"Bruce, I know you're trying to be nice, but I don't think you can help me out with my period" I said as each of the boys faced drop a bit while Gwen laughed at their reactions before following after me as we walked to the library.

"I thought you-"

"I had to lie to the boys so they wouldn't know"

"About?"

"I'll tell you when Donna gets here" I said as she nodded her head throwing her bag on to one of the tables as we walked around the library waiting for Donna as she came bursting through the doors walking over to me and Gwen as I pointed over to the back tables as we all took a seat away from anybody else.

"So, what going on is it Moose I'll-" Gwen said as I shook my head no cutting her off.

"It's Michael" I said as both of their faces turned bitter at the mention of his name.

"What did that fucker do now?" Gwen asked

"Before I tell you I need you both to promise not to judge me"

"We promise"

"I think Michael might be the Grabber son"

"Wait, why???" Donna asked, leaning closer to me as I let out a sigh running my hand through my hair leaning back in my chair for a minute.

"On Monday this morning at English we were passing notes, Donna you saw that, he wanted to go to the library to talk as he explained to me about his past where his father left him at a young age to go off to his dream job he also mention that his father was always weird around his mother then later in the day when we were at gym he had those fucking cards as he explained he's now doing magic tricks then when I gave him his gift and he had nothing I wanted to hang out over the weekend but he said he was visiting with his uncle who uses drugs a lot and Max the grabber brother at least is high almost all the time. Am I just thinking this over or dose it sounds like a coincidence?" I asked falling back in my seat as both the girls faces drained of color.

"I don't want to believe it, but you may be right (y/n) it all connects but I wouldn't believe it till I see it" Donna said as I nodded my head agreeing with her. 

"I was planning on that, but Gwen I wanted to ask for a favor"

"(y/n) my dreams don't work like that"

"I know but I was just suggesting it. if you can't I'll do it myself"

"no you won't" Gwen said "that's a fucking death wish if he is the grabber son, and you fall right into his trap"

"Just because I think he might be doesn't mean he is, but I really needed to get it off my chest and I couldn't tell the boys without them freaking out especially Vance and Robin, they already hadn't like him from the start. " I said as both of the girls looked at each other knowing something that I didn't as I brushed it off. the bell soon rang as we grab our things rushing off to class as I took a seat on the other side as Donna took mine without question as Michael came in soon after waving at me. I waved back at him pulling out my book reading. I knew I couldn't just start acting strange out the blue and grow distant with Michael again or he would catch on to what I was doing as soon as first period was over, I waited for Michael to pick up his thing as we made our way to math class then to the next class and to the next till lunch came around where I got a break from being near him as I found myself in my happy place with my friends joking around and talking till lunch was over then it was right back near Michael talking with him the topic came up of future carries we wanted to go down.

"I'm not sure where I want to go much but I do know I want to find love down the path, what about you Michael?"

"I want to follow my father footsteps to do magic tricks and bring a smile to people face as one day I'm performing my best magic trick when out the crowd I see a beautiful lady watching as I step down from my stage, give her a rose and ask her to join me for my next magic trick" he said winking at me as he suddenly pulled a rose out of his pocket. 

"Aww thank you" I said taking the rose giving him a fake smile as we kept walking. I felt my stomach twist and turn from all the anxiety and that same gut feeling I got before as I excused myself rushing off to the bathroom gripping the sink to stable myself while I covered my mouth with my free hand begging not to puke as I looked up in the mirror catching a glimpse of the grabber as I quickly turned around finding nobody behind me as I took a deep breath pushing myself away from the sink finding myself sinking to the ground. please just be a lie I thought curling up a little as I spent the rest of school stuck in the bathroom refusing to move an inch till school was over as I made my way into the house back to my room falling on my bed curling up pulling the covers closing my eyes just thanking myself school was finally over and tomorrow, I could get the truth.
