chapter one hundred twenty-seven

"Come on Samson!" I called out changing into a pair of jeans and a t-shirt throwing my pjs over my desk. Samson came running in soon after I called his name as he sat on the floor looking up at me tilting his head a bit in wonder. I reach out over my desk pulling out his leash as he starts wagging his tail barking a bit more running over to me nudging my side wanting me to already put it on him as I crouch down hooking his leash to his collar. He quickly ran off over by the front door as I walked out into the kitchen grabbing a couple plastic bags just in case nature called as I walked over to the door taking the keys stuffing them into my pocket before putting my shoes on as I took his leash walking out the door closing it behind as we walked off to Billy house as I found him waiting on the sidewalk with Rover as he lifted his head up barking to us. I held onto Samson leash a bit tighter before relaxing a bit as we made our way over. Samson quickly started sniffing Rover as Rover did the same while me and Billy just watched them hoping that they would maybe get along as Rover started acting playful as Samson wagged his tail playing back as both me and Billy let out a sigh of relief at the sight.

"Ready to go babe?" Billy asked, reaching his hand out to me.

"Yes" I said, taking his hand in mine as we both got to our feet before walking off to the dog park. "So, you think you're going to go back to delivering newspapers?"

"I might. I do want to start making a bit of money, do you think I should?"

"Billy it's your decision"

"I know but if I do start working to deliver newspaper again it will leave a bit of less time to see you"

"I know but I think I'm going to apply for a job down at the grab and go to help out a bit but also I think if I work at the grab and go, I'll get a lot of quarters from Vance playing the machine all day" I said as we both started laughing a bit.

Soon we got to the dog park as Billy walked in first while I followed after him as he closed the gate behind before crouching down unhooking Rover from his leash as Rover took off quickly running over to the other dogs as I looked down at Samson before crouching down.

"Behave boy" I whisper, rubbing his head before unhooking him from his leash as he looked up at me before running over to Rover and the other dogs as me and Billy took a seat over by the bench. A few dogs came running up to us looking for attention as I gladly gave them all my attention grabbing their heads or giving a few belly scratches as Billy chuckled a bit. "There are so cute"

"Just watch out for Killer" Billy comment as I looked over to him tilting my head a bit as I turned back scanning the many dogs.

"Which one is killer?" I ask leaning back on the bench as Billy looked around before pointing at a small dog that was sitting next to this old man as I noticed the dog slightly growling to another dog that was getting close. 

"Oh, now I see why" I said resting my head against Billy shoulder as he lifted his arm wrapping it around me pulling me close to his side as we sat there in silent looking at the dogs as I felt like I could stay there in that moment forever till Samson came running over nudging my leg before taking a seat next to my side as Rover came running over to Billy wagging his tail and resting his paw on his leg. "I'm guessing that means it time to go home?"

"yeah" Billy said standing up as I turned to Samson putting his leash back on before following Billy and Rover as we made our way down the street back to my place so I could drop Samson off so I could spend a bit more of my time with Billy. once I drop Samson off me, Billy and Rover walked over to Billy house as he dropped Rover off. "So where would you like to go babe?"

"I'm not sure" I said taking Billy hand in mine as we walked down the street. Billy wasn't so sure either where to go so we decided to stop at the post office as I noticed one of the other new paper boys picking up a few more stack of newspapers as he greeted Billy before walking out.

"Hello son, hello (y/n)" Mr. Showalter said walking out of his office wiping away some ink off his hand. 

"Hi dad, I wanted to ask you if I could go back to delivering newspapers" Billy said stumbling over his words a bit as I caught a glimpse of his hand twitching a bit. 

"Son, you know you always can but are you sure you want to go back to delivering newspapers?"

"Yes dad"

"Okay, I'll get you a schedule" his father said turning back to his office.

"Billy are you okay?" I asked once his father was out of sight as Billy turned his head back to me giving me a slight smile.

"Yeah" he said. I just simply nodded my head looking around the post office. Billy's dad came back handing him a slip of paper as Billy read it over a smile growing on his face as he rushed over to me showing me the slip of paper. 

"Billy this is great" I said looking down at the schedule where checkmarks were left for when Billy had to work. as we started walking out the post office though Billy stops me. "Is something wrong?"

he didn't say anything as he pulled me into a kiss as I smiled kissing him back feeling like I was floating on clouds till we pulled away for fresh air as he kissed my cheek before wrapping his hand around mine as we walked off.
