I was still lying-in bed watching cartoons looking over to the boys who were both still asleep. At this point I grew worried about how bad they were hurt. Their heart monitor was still going so the wound didn't kill them but with the number of bandages that they had wrapped from top to bottom it still did a number of damages. Suddenly the door burst open as I noticed Griffin, Billy, Finn, Bruce and Gwen standing in the doorway.
"(Y/n)!" Gwen shouted dashing over to me pulling me in a hug. I let out a small laugh holding her close. She was so far the one I missed most being stuck in that basement. Tears were pricking in the corner of my vision as I let them flow down my face still holding her tight. I could tell she was crying as my shirt started to soak.
"Hey, I'm here" I whisper to her in a reassuring way, running my hand over her head. Then Griffin gave me a hug refusing to let go until Billy ran over pulling me along in a hug.
"I thought you died" Billy said, clinging onto me as I looked down at him. Honestly, I thought I would too.
"Well, I'm still alive, the grabber not so much" I said smiling a bit leaning back against the pillow looking over to Finn who was sitting in a chair next to Robin side. Poor Finn.
"(y/n) I want to tell you about my dream" Gwen said with a bit of excitement.
"Okay" I said leaning against my arm listening on her story of how she had solved out each clue to finding the house she mentioned that in Billy dream the grabber after he kidnapped him was standing in front of a brick house with this weird looking tree. In Vance she mentions a very gruesome detail where he cut into someone arm the address of the house and was also led there. "Wow Gwen very interesting"
She was still beaming bright. As the boys started chatting to me about the news and what's been going on.
"The detective wanted us all at the police station once were feeling better, to talk about the grabber" Bruce said, slightly not happy about it. I was slightly chugging my cup of freshwater giving a side eye glance.
"Why would they care? I killed the grabber, he's gone now it's the end" I said slightly a bit bitter. I never wanted to think about that man again let alone his title.
"We got no choice (y/n)" Finn said. Of course, why wouldn't they. The nurse suddenly came in clapping her hands, shoving everyone out.
"Visitation over" she said, closing the door behind them.
"Bitch" I mumbled so she couldn't hear. The nurse grabbed her checkerboard checking my heart monitor, my iv, and the wound checking off a mark for yes or no. Then she went to Vance checking off a few things here and there then to Robin. She left after that as I looked around the room wondering what I could do. TV was always an option, but the channels weren't growing interesting, and my legs were starting to get weak. I needed to move around. I pushed myself out of bed, setting one foot down after the other sitting up. My legs were shaking as they caved in. I grip the side of the bed to keep myself up right. You got this I thought, pulling my hands away from the bed just taking a minute to get used to standing again before putting on some socks the nurse had left in the room.
I was walking around the hallways waving at a couple of nurses making my way to the cafeteria pulling up a chair from the back looking out the window. It was still fall out with the trees still painted in rays or orange, red, yellow leaves with some of them breaking off the branch falling to the ground. There was an old lady walking by the trees holding her husband's hand as he gave a warm smile seeing his wife's happy face. I don't know what was with old couple, maybe because soon you find yourself turning old or maybe it's that part that the love was still there connecting them together for all those times. It was cute in a way. I watched as the wife took her husband's other hand as they swayed underneath the big oak tree Leafs falling around them.
"That's going to be me and your father one day" my mother said pulling up a chair next to me. I gag at the thought like any kid would with their parents but secretly I hope they would stay together for a long time
"Mom, that's gross" I complained, sitting back against the chair. "Also, shouldn't you be at work?"
"I'm on lunch break and thought you would want to go to get something to eat but I see you already came to the cafeteria"
"I got tired just lying in that room and the boys aren't awake, yet my legs also grew tired too so why not look around"
"Would you like me to grab you something from the cafeteria?"
"Yes please" I said, turning my head back to the window as she left, coming back with a bowl of oatmeal for herself and (f/f) just for me.
"Thanks mom" I said, digging into the meal. It was much better than just having water as it filled up my stomach and was definitely better than scrambled eggs. Me and my mother sat in silence eating our food until she noticed the time giving me a quick kiss on the cheek rushing off to work. I got up throwing the rest of my food away, taking a seat back in the chair to spend the rest of my evening just staring out the window taking every little detail of the beautiful outside world.
